Main page is blank for me.

Has happend twice since last time , with the latest one being on same time as i make this post (firefox). And others browser still have the issue then until i fix it there also.
 
Happened today on IE and FF
Clearing cookies = no joy

Did the plopke song and dance and is working now

Unless I link in from a thread link forums are pretty borked right now with this. Even tried edge which I don't know if I've ever used to come here and get nothing but a big blank slate. Can't move between main forums either, just within the subforum I jump into.
 
This happened to me this morning for the first time. Flushing cache, cookies & DNS did nothing.

Luckily i happened to read this thread the other day & remembered someone mentioning they could get into the forums if they went to a specific thread so i got in that way.



This works for me though & for now my bookmark to the forums works too.

2.go back to main page which will be blank , but a force refresh (ctrl+F5) and it works again

Does not work for me if i skip step 1.

Did anyone notice a different AnandTech icon when this happened to them?
I don't remember what they're called, not an emoticon but the icon in the tab & in your bookmark. Instead of the big A having an orange swoosh thru it there's also a red dot in the top left corner. It's gone now for me but i have a screen grab from my history that shows it. Do we still have to upload images to another site to display them here?

No, you just click on the picture icon (between the insert link and the emoji icon) and you can insert in there.
 
There's a few more things we're going to try. We've been working on hunting down the root cause for this for some time - and we thought we had it, but, no.

Please bear with us.

It's happening now for Firefox, even after deleting cookies. I just get a blank page. Tried ctrl+F5 too, no go. Something is seriously wrong. It does this every now and then. I thought it was the site itself but it seems to be browser dependent. Posting from another browser now. It's weird because usually after a day or two it will fix itself. I just happened to try another browser for fun to see what would happen.
 
So it seems going to a thread works but going to main page does not. It's like if it's not loading template properly or something.
 
Thought this was gone, but, no. It just happened again for me. Thank goodness for the plopke fix.
 
Haven't actually had any of this since the last shutdown. Did get the full page unmoveable ad page on my mobile over the weekend for the first time since then though.
 
With mobile Safari on my iPhone, I was getting an error like "403 forbidden" on the main page and my bookmark for watched threads. Killing Safari and rebooting the phone didn't fix it. Had to clear all cache and log-in again.
 
I bet it's a php error, but if errors are disabled then there's no way of knowing. They'd have to enable php errors for a bit just to see.
 
Favicon, that was the word i was looking for earlier. This just happened again, a different favicon appeared in my Firefox tab after i logged in, though a had no issues with a blank page appearing.
Right click-View Page Info-Media, the URL for the normal favicon should be

but i was getting this:

then a long line of code after the comma & it looks like this with the red dot beside the AnandTech "A".

No idea if this is related to the blank page issue but these 2 issues happened at the same time before.
If you need the full line of code for the for the favicon with the red dot i'll save it.

I thought the AT forums were down the entirety of yesterday because of this problem, and only found they were up when I was clearing out my old bookmarks.
