Main page is blank for me.

Does anyone remember what they were doing last before it happened? Did it happen as you were browsing the forums or the next day when you came to the forums for the first time that day?

My case is, if a particular machine & it's browsers which has blank page issue is: if I cleared cache and everything else, the blank page issue came back. That means if I never visit the site before, all I see is a blank page.

If I did what's suggested at post #46 to visit a URL like https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/ that does not exist, then go back to forums.anandtech.com and reload the URL, then the browsers were able to load the page correctly.

How i end up on the forums :

Firefox
a) reading anandtech articles and click forums shortcut on frontpage
OR
b) type forums... and autocomplete to https://forums.anandtech.com

I think it happend not during but first visit of the day. (not 100% sure)

I was just surprised I got a blank page on browsers i never visit the forum with like Edge and Chrome.

Happened when I came to the forums for the first time that day. Link used was https://forums.anandtech.com/. Nothing I tried fixed it until now, with the help of
plopke's instructions.

Same problem here , blank front page. Solution for me was
1.go to any subpage like threadshttps://forums.anandtech.com/threads/ which does load a error page of thread not found
2.go back to main page which will be blank , but a force refresh (ctrl+F5) and it works again

Does not work for me if i skip step 1.


Edge,Firefox,Chrome all had the same issue

A million likes for you. Navigating the forums has been a nightmare without the forums page and no solutions were working.

Got blank on one system (Win 10 + Firefox) yesterday, before the "7:31 PM", but did not try to resolve.

Got blank now on Linux + Firefox system. Got here (via browse history). Did the plopke's routine. Success.

Have to test on Win too later.

Getting blank page for forum main page on multiple devices (windows, android & linux). Tried reinstalling windows on one PC (it was due a refresh anyway) and even brand new setup it is blank. Only device/browser combo that works is Samsung Note 9 with Samsung browser. Clearing cookies/cache happens daily anyway but I forced it with no change.

This started on Dec 6th for me, fresh boot and no access despite it working before that. Tried the fixes in this thread with no success. Firefox, Chrome, Edge, IE, Opera, Waterfox, AvantBrowser (all 4 engines) all fail to access the forums whether it's a new install or not.

Update: Firefox Classic (v52) still loads the forum just fine, gonna have to use that until the issue is resolved.

Update 2: Old Firefox no longer works, no fix works and am back to just the Samsung Browser. Issue does not occur on windows forum.com which also uses XenForo 2.0.

Issue here in Chrome, FF, Edge and IE11 - Blank page on main screen so your cache issue has appeared again.

Clearing content, cookies, etc didn't work at all I'm afraid.

Never seen said blank page. I visit from 2 desktops running Windows 7 and Firefox 61. Totally different networks.

(Facebook though ... every now and then ... loads blank. But a quick refresh loads it properly.)

I was getting a blank page prior to the forum upgrade on 12/12/18. After the upgrade the forum home page shows ok.

It's happening to me when I used my Android tablet too this morning.

Was able to fix it using by visiting invalid URL like http://forums.anandtech.com/test

Blank page for me again and my previous "fixes" no longer work. I got here by doing a Google search that got me a link to forum post and going from there. Cache/cookie clearing didn't work either. Jumping into a Windows 10 VM (main system is macOS) is working so I guess I will do that going forward.

Cleared the cache normally to get back on and it was okay. Still okay today.

It happens to me a couple times today again.

Now it happens again across several computers, several times a day.

The solution is like before:

1. visit http://forums.anandtech.com/test then
Oops! We ran into some problems./The requested page could not be found. webpage will be shown
2. Click Anandtech forum logo, this time it's still blank page
3. Click reload web page button on browser. Now the forum home page will load.

Everything seems to be working for me now.

On a side note, I can't imagine how difficult it is to run a board like this. I love having the forums as a resource…thanks for the all the work you folks do!
