I know a mailman who steals HUNDREDS of Netflix movies. I saw them at his house. He steals them from work, and not just 1 or 2 but HUNDREDS!!!

This is what happened. A guy I know asked if I wanted to buy some movies so i asked him which ones did he have. He says, well I have all kinds of movies. So I asked if I could see which ones he had. He tells me to go over to his crib. I stop by his apt later on that day to see what movies he has for sale. He comes out to the living room with 2 HUGE BOXES full of DVD's in Netflix Sleeves. I'm like WTF!!!!

He says, "My dad is a postman and he takes a couple of boxes out to the trash, and later on when leaving his shift he takes them to his truck and brings them home." So he tells me I can pick any movie I want for like $3 each, including NEW RELEASES!

This guy is like 22yrs old and his dad works for the Unites States Postal Service. His dad is like 47yrs old and has been working there for 15yrs. His dad supports both his sons (20yrs old and 16yrs old) and they have no mother or any other family. The extra money he makes from the DVD's go towards groceries and clothes for his 2 sons.

What do you guys think I should do?

NO!!!
I'm wondering if I should just walk away and be like I never saw it.... or should I turn him in....

Mind you, I wouldn't actually buy the movies, and I didn't. I'm just wondering if I should do something about it or just leave things be and let someone else catch him

Me I would report him.

Why?

Well he is 47 years old, he is responsible enough to raise a family, hold a job for 15 years and provide for 2 boys...I would say he is responsible enough to take the consequences of his actions...he made a choice, a concious choice and he KNEW what he was doing was wrong....like the saying goes...can't do the time?...don't do the crime.

Ask yourself how you would feel if he was stealing from YOUR parents, grandparent brother or sister....if you think movies is all this guy is scamming....your are mistaken....besides you KNOW what to do...have the balls and do it.

Aside from ethical considerations, it is not worth the potential hassles to turn him in. There's a reason they call it "going postal" ;)

It's only a matter of time until someone else does anyway, if what you say is true.

hmmm..... then that would make me an accomplice

Sorry, I thought every thread tonight was required to referance SW:III. Contact the proper authorities, there's no way to rationalize pure theft.

The problem is this guy knows where I live and they might retaliate or try to get even for me turning him in.

That is why you don't give your name when you report it. :p

This will just make netflix raise their prices and then we will all whine then. :D

Find a payphone and inform a higher postal authority of his actions without telling them your name if you feel threatened. If they don't act on your tip it's their fault and you can know that you tried to help.
