Confront him, get him to return the movies anon., and let him know you'll do your duty as a law abiding citizen if ever you catch wind of it again.

There should be no reason for them to know it was you who initially tipped off the authorities, as long as the authorities don't screw up.

Report him. As a previous poster said, mail theft is a serious federal offense.

The world's what you make of it.

Grow a pair why don't you.

Do you really think the mailman is going to come hunt you down because you told the feds he was stealing mail?

Besides, if they've offered them to you they've probably offered them to others. How would they know it was you?

I tend to think this story is BS anyway, I think Netflix & the USPS are buddy-buddy enough to figure out that hundreds of DVD's are disappearing out of one sort facility & start an investigation.

Find a payphone and inform a higher postal authority of his actions without telling them your name if you feel threatened. If they don't act on your tip it's their fault and you can know that you tried to help.

yea.... that sounds like the best way to handle it. I knew AT'ers would give good advice

 Confronting him is stupid.....unless of course you get something for letting him keep his $20/hour job with benefits.

I agree.... I mean it woud be 3 against one in their house. Also, they would definetly know who turned them in for sure.

Not anymore. How do you know someone hasn't read this thread and decided to do the right thing when you haven't?

Damn Viper..... that didn't take long

Now you have no excuse! :p Leave an anonymous tip if you need, but don't let it go unreported. There is no possible excuse for what he is doing, and it probably is a lot more than just DVDs. I sure as hell miss enough letters and packages to be riled about mail theft. Even worse to know it is the mailman himself...

edit: quote mess

3 dollars? I wouldn't buy it at all as I'm not interested in any movies :D
I'm trying to get my priority straight. I don't spend any money on stupid things like this. When it comes to spending, I am very wise. Some may call me super cheap, but that's what you get for being a smart shopper ;)

I build my own pc rather then have someone build it.
I change my oil rather then have someone do it.
Y, the do it yourself thingy is most rewarding IMHO.

Have a nice day.

1. Go to his house at night, without telling anyone where you are.

2. Confront him and say "I haven't told anyone this yet, but tomorrow I'm going to your boss with evidence that you've been stealing mail, enough to qualify as a felony. You're going to lose your job, your pension, and will go to prison."

3. Turn your back on him to admire his collection of blunt objects and sharp, pointy things.

Sounds like a good plan!

Good. :)

If I saw someone stealing your stuff, would you want me to report them?

That's rough.

Don't buy any of them, that's for sure. Tell him why you're not going to buy any, too, and tell him that he'd better freaking knock it off, too, because $3 a movie is NOT worth losing a good job with bennies and going to prison. It's so ridiculous, I almost can't believe it. I mean, damn, that's just... idiotic. I wouldn't turn him in, though, because he's going to get caught. Like NetFlix isn't going to notice that the majority of the movies it sends to that region/city/ZIP code/whatever go missing? Hell, he's going to get caught without your help. I'm sure NetFlix has already contacted the Postmaster General.

First rule about stealing: it's simply wrong. Way wrong. Horrid, low-class sh!t. Bad. Bad. Bad.

Second rule: If the haul isn't enough so you can retire and run away to Brazil or Africa or some tropical island, don't bother!

If you don't want the guilt of turning him in and wrecking the 15 year old's entire early adulthood, yet you still think it's wrong, then don't get involved, and don't buy the stolen property; simply rest assured that he's going to go to jail anyway, without any help from you.
