Is anyone else playing this game? I highly reccomend it. Somewhat similar to gta3, except with more of a storyline. Plus, it has sweet looking 30's cars and weapons. If you can pick this one up it will be money well spent.

You'll probably put battlefield 1942 on the backburner for awhile if you get it (just like I did). This game is very addicting once you get into it.

I can do that until the 11th when the full game comes out then I think I'll be PRETTY occupied

but yeah its been getting some raves from IGN and such about how its like GTA but with a much deeper and better storyline.

Yeah, thats a pretty accurate description. I'm loving how a whole bunch of high quality games have come out/are coming out soon now. Seemed like the last game worth buying was morrowind, now there are so many. We still have the releases of b42, ut2k3, hitman 2, nolf 2, and others within the next few months.

yeah I know whatcha mean,

I'm kinda hesitant of Hitman2 because Hitman was a good game, but it lacked a lot. It had SO much potential but it was WAY to hard and figuring out your objectives was a big problem. I'm hoping that they fixed these and made everything else even better.



I still have a lot of games that I haven't beat yet too... I've barely touched Neverwinter Nights since June

Here's my 2 cents. Mafia is friggin' awesome. Starting Mission 10 right now. I like how you have to be taught how to steal a certain type of car. Having to hide your weapon in public is also good. You really shouldn't expect a cop to ignore you if you're walking down the street with a sawed-off shotgun in your hand. I really hate the missions where you have to lose a tail. It seems really random on how far away you can go before it's considered a success. That aside, I'm loving this game.

Possible mini-spoiler #1: Mission 08 is great, with 08-04 being the coupe de grace of that mission. Reminds me of a scene from the movie "Face/Off."
Possible mini-spoiler #2 and easter egg: Visit all the bathrooms in 04-03 and find the one you can "use." This is the only game I remember playing where they actually show a dude taking a piss. Normally you hear the sounds or the character just flushes. Seems like an easter egg since there's only one toilet where this happens.

Oh great, now I have to go out and buy this game! I was reading about it last night and thought it sounded interesting, but wasn't going to rush out and pick it up. But you guys make it sound really fun, I think I'll pick it up.

The driving gets much better. At first it seems kinda slow and unresponsive, but you get better cars and you get used to it. I kept wanting it to be exactly like gta at first, but after playing it for several hours it seems perfectly normal.

I'm at the part now wherer you have to escape from the garage after trying to make a deal with the Kentucky whisky guy. I love the cinematic sequence of that part. Freaking awesome when they all drive up!

Mission 15 == teh b!tch
15-04 and 15-08 sucked huge ass. It took me forever to get through that part. I think I got through missions 01-09 in about 5 hours and thought the game would be pretty short. Missions 10-15 are fairly long though.

Whats the minimum specs? Is it a 3rd Person Game or 1st Person. Sorry, I've not really taken time to review this game! Is there loads of shooting rival gangs etc or is it like "Thief" with lots of sneaking about etc etc?...

Yet after reading all these comments in this thread Im really thinking maybe i should pick this title up.

Searched for a demo with no luck.

The pace of the game varies. You do have to obey speed limits and some other driving laws if you don't want to get a ticket, or be arrested (you fail the mission if you get arrested). I also found the inability to save anywhere slows the game down a lot. There are a few gun fights where you really have to take your time if you want to get out of it alive.

The ending is so friggin' beautiful. It ties together the story fairly well, in my opinion. One of the best endings I've seen from recent games.

It is pretty slow at the beginning, but after awhile it gets much faster because of the addition of newer cars. I really love how you can shoot out of moving cars too. It's great.

WOW ok. I've only played through the tutorial and first 2 levels but man. I am impressed so far. This is the PC's answer to GTA3 (even though we got that as well ) and it is freaking sweet. I'm so looking forward to playing a game with a good story again.

Ahhh.... I'm stuck on level 15-08.

Killed everyone on the level but can't figure out what to do next. I believe it has something to do with th train but I can't get it to go.

Help anyone...? I've been running around with nobody except me and civilians in the level for about half an hour now.

This is a great game, got it this weekend. Good story line, graphics and the music is good too. Makes me feel like a made man.

I love this game, but I really can't get it to run worth a damn on my machine. I'm running it at 1024x768x32, most settings at medium, but shadows at Very Low. Draw distance is about 40%, and detail is about 30-35%. Triple buffering off, v-sync off, fsaa off, compressed textures, truecolor off. While driving I'm seeing an average of about 12-15 FPS. When on foot and in a gun fight, it's about 10-14 FPS. This sucks. What settings is everyone else using?

datalink7 - You sure did better than me on 15-08. I was running around for an hour or two.

800x600x32
Compressed textures, True Color stuff off, particles and shadows low, v-sync off, no antialiasing, everything else at default.

Very choppy when driving around at night and during huge tommy gun wars with Sam and Paulie on the screen.
