Things are changing. In spite of what you may hear, I'm not sure Trump can count the military as part of his "base".

As of last December, 50% of troops have an unfavorable view of Trump (45 very unfavorable) vs 41% that have a favorable view (24% very favorable).

Meanwhile Mattis was hugely popular with the troops. Back in October 2018, while Trump was about even, at 43% either way, Mattis had 84% postive (60% very positive) vs. 4% negative.

If Biden can get Mattis to endorse him for 2020 it could be a big deal.

This one will get traction. A lot of Trump supporters have a great deal of respect for the military, and when a Marine General speaks, they will listen.

They didn't listen when a 5 1/2 year POW spoke, they won't now either.

I’ve been told by some DoD friends and servicemembers that there was a very, very large contingent of military moderates voting for Trump in 2016 who felt justified when he announced Mattis as SecDef and McMaster for NSA. Remember how Trump was going to rebuild the military and put all the best generals in charge? With McMaster long gone and Mattis publicly turning on him, expect things to be different this election.

Similar here:
One friend in active Military she appeared to be fired up about Trump but not obnoxiously fired up, then it became the typical “why not give the President a chance” then last year(ish) it became radio silence other than not liking Antifa or violent protests.

Wait, don't most members of the military vote by mail, for the simple reason they are deployed or stationed in locations other than their normal voting precinct. Trump is doing all he can to eliminate voting by mail.

He is doing all he can to eliminate voting by mail for everyone who currently can’t vote by mail. Over 65 and military vote by mail is fine with the President.

Lindsay is another colostomy bag that needs to fucking go away.

If he got his ass kicked out of office I would send him one of those voice recording condolence cards with me laughing hysterically at him for as long as that recorder will allow.

Nevada's entire mail voting advertising is centered around this. "This is Sergeant Sam. As a member of the military he has always voted by mail. Be like Sergeant Sam."
