During the big macys sale I made an order but decided to cancel, so I called up and cancelled the order. They said that a credit would be issued to my card but would take 8-10 business days. That time went by without a credit, so I Emailed them and they said that they don't need to issue a credit since I was never charged as the order was never shipped. I double check my statement and i WAS charged for the item 3 days after i ordered it. What can I do? They just say that I was never charged

you should call them up and tell them that you were charged and that you can fax them your statement as proof.

The easiest way to resolve it is a 3 way call between you, Macy's, and the bank.
Geico double dipped me, and I resolved it this way.

Check the Law.. It against federal banking laws to charge your card before shipping the merchandise. File a complaint with the Better Business bureau/

Not true. The US Mint does it all the time. And, the FTC's site says "many credit card issuers have policies against merchants charging a credit card account before shipment" which is a far cry from "against the law".

And in any case, that's not the problem here. It's obviously just a mistake in Macy's billing department.

resolved: i called up macys twice and the CSRs said there's nothing they can do, it takes at least 30 days to give me credit for the error. hahaha, Sure. so I asked to a supervisor and informed him about this *fraudelent* charge and after some time he agreed to put my credit through today for processing. So I get my money back sooner!
