Yikes - $2000 - Where's the MacBook (nonpro!)

No no. Where is the 13.3" MacBook Pro. I don't want a 5.6lbs behemoth.

exactly, people seem to have forgotten that some of us actually want it to be portable

wow pricey

lets see something smaller and cheaper

Pricey but in line with the announced costs of other dual core notebooks.

right, and i'd much rather have this than that asus, but lets see a 12" single core notebook

Price is damn good for a new Powerbook. I just hope I don't have to see a freakin BIOS screen on bootup..which brings it to another point, Windows cannot run without a BIOS correct?

Did Apple pioneer the hard launch? I mean, did nVidia follow their lead? Apple will have all of this stuff ready to order on the Apple.com store as soon as his speech is finished.

shipping a month from now is not a 'hard launch'

The iMac ships today, the MacBook ships next month, when all the other dual core notebooks ship.

5.6lbs is FAR from a behemoth

It's not a behemoth... my iXPS2 isn't a behemoth compared to some of the desktop replacement out there. But i wanted something much more portable. A 13" widescreen would have been PERFECT. The 12" ibook and powerbooks did very well, and so does the Dell 700m. There's definitely a market out there.

I think the appeal of both computers, the desktop and the laptop, is going to be if/when it's confirmed that dual boot is possible. At that time, I'll probably buy it.

if dual boot isnt possiable that IMO would be a huge mistake

Weird, that the new powerbook doesn't have a svideo out? I like connecting my laptops to TV's to watch vids that i have! 🙁

Wow... I have no idea what to do. Wait for a consumer version of the MacBook - or spoil myself silly?

There WILL be a workaround at least
