-5 hours of Battery Life
-2 GB Memory standard
-$1799
-Environmental highlights: fully aluminum case (good for recycling), first fully mercury and lead free display, circuit boards are BFR free, retail packaging are 56% less volume than MacBook.

yay...way thin. even my mom is excited for it lol...dvd-rw, cd-rw/dvd combo drive is nowhere to be seen yet.

"intel shrunk the c2d by 60%" how come they dont give that to us desktop/regular laptop people? that would be nice for power savings...

$99 for the superdrive? you'd think they'd at least throw in a cd-rw/dvd combo drive for free or something...no wired ethernet?

i wonder what the "one more thing" is...new macbook pros!

something had to go for them to make it so thin.

Sony's TZ series still got it beat for thinnest complete notebook.

When was the last time you used an optical drive on a Mac? Most software is download-only now. Much of the stuff I watch or listen to is online. Plus you can hook it up to another computer with an optical drive...

whats to bother, i used to have a thinkpad x31 and only ever used an optical drive to install software. I had a USB DVD-RW but usually mapped a network optical drive and did it from there. used to have a 12" powerbook too and almost never used the optical drive.

personally i have moved beyond the need for an ultraportable but still admire its design, but i won't be buying one.

my macbook leaves my desk maybe once a month

$1799.

Sure it is thin but is it too big? I not in the market for something like this but doesn't a 13.3 inch screen take it out of the subnotebook catagory? I would think people looking for this type of machine would want something smaller, maybe a 12 inch screen?

i use my dvd-rw all the time...i guess this rules out selling my dads cause he uses his all the time (he constantly has usb devices and firewire plugged in) for pictures/dvds/video.
