No. We cannot. Go get a quicktime decompressor and do it yourself.

That's not going to help with word file...I can tell who's actually looking at the file and who's not...so far apparently no one.

The procedure is really pretty simple. Rename it .iDoc. Head over to the bathroom. Take all of the money out of your wallet and flush it down the toilet. Go out for a walk and make fun of the first unattractive person you see. Since you're out for a walk anyway, buy some polish. Now when you get back, go down in your basement or kitchen and find an appliance that nobody ever sees and the looks of which aren't important - use the polish on it until you can see yourself in it. Compliment yourself on your good looks and the lack of viruses on your computer. Congrats. The file won't work, but now you don't care. You're cool (tm).

Of course I've tried it...I said that in my OP. The embedded images will not be decompressed in a Windows based word app.

Nah, I think a one-off has a more heartfelt feel to it.

Can someone with a mac open this for my sister so she can have the pictures embedded within? The picture areas show up in word 2007 and Openoffice but both claim you need a Quicktime decompressor. Stupid professor in my opinion to send out a file that's not compatible with Windows.

No where did you say you tried it with QT or QT Alternative installed. But hey...now I know it doesn't work. Thanks. :p

Yeah... If the OP had looked the text is in three separate text boxes. The original work isn't embedded that I can see...

Hey asshole, I did look. It says you need a decompressor in word. I looked online and discovered that this is typically a problem when a image is imported on a mac and you can only get the image when you then load it on a mac. So only then do I ask for assistance since I don't have one.

Since when does "you need a decompressor" mean "only on a mac"? There are Windows based solutions but you're too damn lazy to bother, so why should we put any effort into it either?

You come posting this crap in OT, interrupting a perfectly good afternoon of neffing, ask us to do something simple that you can't be bothered to do, we call you on it, and you insult us. Good job, smart guy!

Hey Nik, get back with me when you know a way to install a quicktime plugin to Microsoft Word. When you do, I'll listen to you.

If there are windows solutions like you claim please list them. I'll bet right now you can't find one.

Yeah, my searches concluded the same. Looks like a problem when mac users drag and drop images instead of using insert-->picture from within the program. I doubt there's anything anyone can do.

She needs to email the professor and ask him/her to re-insert the images. It would lend to her argument if she links some of the posts so the prof can see it's not an isolated problem on your sister's end.

Thanks Goober. That's what I thought the answer was gonna be unfortunately once Sabot couldn't open it.

Virtual Machine comes to mind without even bothering to google search for alternatives.

Please...even you should realize how ridiculous that idea is compared to asking a person who is running a mac to simply open a .doc file for you.
