Mac Office 2011, Excel question

In Excel, how do I write the date in the following format: 1/26/11 ?

I can't figure it out.

Please help. 🙁

edit: I uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2011 and it works now. I can enter the date with slashes. Thanks for you help, guys.

yes, date with slashes. It worked in Mac Office 2008.

That's strange, mine has a couple different options with "/".

Yea, and Office '10 has slashes as well.

If I type 1/26/11, it automatically gets converted to 01d26d11.

I installed the latest critical Office update, but that didn't help.

That's strange, mine has a couple different options with "/".

Same here, the 1st option is with / and then there are a couple other variants with /'s
