In Excel, how do I write the date in the following format: 1/26/11 ?

I can't figure it out.

Please help. :(

edit: I uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2011 and it works now. I can enter the date with slashes. Thanks for you help, guys.

I don't see the date format MM/DD/YY listed as an option:

So you specifically want slashes not dashes? Let me get back to you.

Yea, and Office '10 has slashes as well.

OP, what happens if you type it in with the slashes?

If I type 1/26/11, it automatically gets converted to 01d26d11.

I installed the latest critical Office update, but that didn't help.
