Mac Mini Server?

Would this work alright? Anyone run a Mac Mini with Leopard Server?

It would be nice to have a small box that can run web, mail, calendar, file server roles. One that I can just set up and leave it be.

Hmm... have you taken a look at Mobile Me? It's a completely different solution, but it seems to be up your alley... me.com

Well as long as you're using it for personal use (AKA - it's not in an office being pounded by 23482390 requests per second), I don't see why it shouldn't be fine? I'd say just make sure you've got a good amount of memory to be safe (2 gigs?). If you decide to venture off into the project, let us know how it turns out. I find it pretty interesting.

Even more interesting would be an Apple TV running the services. If you can pull that off, you win. 😉

have they been able to harness the power of the usb on the ?TV ?

Why not a Hackintosh server? Then you can add RAID, custom hardware, etc.

Should be fine although disk I/O performance won't be great.

if the OP is serious about this they can go the esata route:evil:

I personally use firewire and get very good performance (fantastic compared to the internal drive)

That's the only real downside. Shouldn't be a problem for the OP's application though. Make sure you have plenty HD space as well. I've seen plenty of mini servers around.
