Mac Mini Server?

Would this work alright? Anyone run a Mac Mini with Leopard Server?

It would be nice to have a small box that can run web, mail, calendar, file server roles. One that I can just set up and leave it be.

I actually want a physical box, not .Mac service.

Well as long as you're using it for personal use (AKA - it's not in an office being pounded by 23482390 requests per second), I don't see why it shouldn't be fine? I'd say just make sure you've got a good amount of memory to be safe (2 gigs?). If you decide to venture off into the project, let us know how it turns out. I find it pretty interesting.

Even more interesting would be an Apple TV running the services. If you can pull that off, you win.

have they been able to harness the power of the usb on the ?TV ?

Why not a Hackintosh server? Then you can add RAID, custom hardware, etc.

if the OP is serious about this they can go the esata route:evil:

I personally use firewire and get very good performance (fantastic compared to the internal drive)

That's the only real downside. Shouldn't be a problem for the OP's application though. Make sure you have plenty HD space as well. I've seen plenty of mini servers around.
