That is pretty bad that the only noteworthy use for a mac is RC5. Like I would buy a computer to run a freeware piece of software thats only purpose is to make my computer useful when I'm not using it. But, then again, since the Mac would be useless, I guess RC5 would get a lot of work 🙂.
Oh yea, and buying a PS2 is not actually the same as owning a PC, whoever said that. PS2 plays about as many PC games as the Mac does, so put down the pipe.

Yes. That's all I do. It's my sole intention in life. And it's too early to say anything worthwhile, so I'll let you keep the biased spin zone going in here. Not worth my time for more than a couple posts.

Most of you are missing the point. Macs and PC's are computers. . . that's it nothing more. If they do what you want them to they are great. Period. I have never understood why a group so obviously convinced of its superiority would keep bringing it up to "defend" it. What is the point of making a thread to bash a 10% minority? Would you fell better if all mac users said "you're right this POS is going on eBay today!"? I have used macs since 1988 and have used (and built) pc's since 1996. They both have their pluses and minuses. Anyone who says different is kidding themselves.
The point about macs is that there is a certain charm to them. A charm that comes with a premium. A premium that frankly got me into pc's. Mac's aren't for everyone, but thats why there are choices. If you don't want/can't afford one, don't buy one like the other 90%. BTW, I laugh every time someone brings up market share as superiority. You know GM outsells BMW by a wide margin but I dont even expect the mightiest troll to start that thread.

Hmmmm.... did you notice my earlier posts, if i am biased it's towards PC's... but your post just didn't make any sense at all... since when has market share had anything to do with quality? Which company makes the best monitors? Which company sells the most monitors? Is it the same company?

Actually they sell Macs with PC100 if you look at http://store.apple.com. They advise you to get compatible PC100 modules when upgrading.
Emac: You should purchase PC133-compliant SDRAM that has been tested and approved for your system.
Imac: Note: You should purchase PC133-compliant SDRAM that has been tested and approved for your system.
Ibook: You should purchase PC100 compliant SDRAM that has been tested and approved for your system.

Hey, guess what.. every Mac I've used never crashed ever on me. My current Win2k computer crashes all the time. "Personal Experiences" posted by you and others only express your personal biases. Do you get it, or should I explain again?

Damn! Here I am running 1 GB of PC2700 DDR at CAS 2 and I'm simply drooling over those machines. Not to mention the fact that I already have upgrade options to either A) Faster DDR or B) a P4 / RDRAM.

How long have you been using Mac's... I will not mention MSOS's because i hate them as much as i hate OSX... two months... EVERYONE, even the hardcore Mac fanatics will admit that any previous OS was unstable and crappy...
Exaggerating does NOT prove your point... compared to earlier macOS's W2K is a dream of stability...

How many of these arguments can be turned against x86 companies? Microsoft has stupid commercials, so does Intel. I think that variety is a good thing, why should someone be held back by just one type of architecture?
As for Macs vs PC's, that's stupid, Mac's are PC's; say something like RISC vs x86.
Mac's being more expensive, I'll agree there (if you don't count software). Most people who say that Mac's are by FAR more expensive usually download all their software illegally (remember, XP and Adobe products aren't supposed to be FREE).

Personally i don't give a rats a$$ about the commercials... however, since you brought it up i will answer...
If you do not like Intel, buy AMD or even Via... there are three options... (i will not say anything regarding the huge flop transmeta)... If you do not like MS, then do NOT buy a mac, if it weren't for MS, you couldn't buy a mac even if you wanted too...
Linux and gimp are free, so are lots and lot's of other programs, for both PC and mac... the difference is...
I can buy my own hardware, put it together, configure it the way i want it, install the OS of choice without having to pay for one i don't want... i simply have more choices...
Let's face it, if computer were politics, the PC would be the free world and the Mac would be the equivalent of China, north korea or the old soviet union...
Just curious... How many custom case mods or say water cooled G4's have you seen or read about? (Not saying they don't exist, just I personally have yet to read about one). While some may say that that these "mods" and "extreme cooling systems" may not be nessessary, I personally consider it a hobby--one that as far as I know, does not really exist with-in the Mac world. Can you overclock a Mac?

I still don't see how the prices are justified. If you are implying that graphics professionals make a lot of money and can afford it, then that is completely incorrect. But if all you are saying is that one company should be able to charge more just because it might perform slightly better with some programs, then it's still unjustified.

I made that statement to prove the point that one should not listen to the biased people here. My biased comments obviously sounded wrong to PC users just as the PC users' biased comments sound wrong to Mac users. THAT, sir, was my point. BTW, did you read the whole thread? Because I basically said the same thing earlier.

I think YOU need to put down the pipe, get some decent glasses, and increase the font size because you are obviously having trouble reading other peoples' posts. Because if you were able to read correctly, you would notice that he said it can ALSO run RC5. And no sh1t a PS2 is not the same as a PC. No one here said anything otherwise. n0cmonkey was just making the point that he uses his Mac for work and a PS2 for games.
