Lunges & Reverse lunges

I largely ignored these exercises most of my life. Recently started doing them as aprt of a new routine.

Yesterday I did 45 lb db's on rever lunges. By the end It felt like my quads were going to burst with blood....It was difficult to walk for about 10 minutes. What a crazy movement.

 for lunges

I do static weighted lunges to strengthen my legs. That and weighted single leg squats. My running form and performance is much improved as a result.

Now, close your eyes and do the reverse lunges! Whoo hoo!

brikis's idea of holding a weight overhead is a great way to work the core and stabilizers too - we do it with barbells and kettlebells.
