Question Lowest tdp w/ 6 pin

I was just looking at some GTX 1650 / D6 / Super cards, there was one I remember seeing "100W" mentioned.

Ok thx for the info Larry. Was really hoping for something around 50-60w but that's where we lose the 6 pin it would seem :D

The EVGA GeForce GTX 1650 SC ULTRA GAMING GDDR6 should be around 70-75W and has a 6-pin connector.

Yeah, I think that it would be "mostly pointless" (*) for GPU mfgs to build GPUs with 6-pin power connectors, that don't draw more than 50-60W.

(*) Unless they support overclocking, some RX 560 cards were like that, OR, they were specifically designed for certain OEM systems, that only provide 25W of power through the PCI-E slot, and thus, provide the majority of the card's power needs through the PCI-E supplemental power connector. Incidentally, while the latter may exists somewhere, I've never seen one set up like that. I can see the need for it, though.

What about a PCI-E x1 GPU? They do make them (some flavor of GT710, most likely). Those are designed to not draw more than 25-30W, as that is the max the standard specifies to be available from an x1 slot. That's if OP is stuck with one of those OEM PCs that only supplies 25W to a PCI-E x16 slot, those do exist. (Mostly some SFF PCs, that were never intended to house a gaming GPU.)

Why do you want it to have a 6pin? Cards that are less than 75W just pull power from the PCI-E slot.

20 pin PSU. So it's either an adapter to make it 24 pin or a molex to 6 pin adapter to run a video card. I ordered the 24 pin adapter. I'll prolly just stick the 20 pin in first and see if it runs my 6350 card. Would be sweet if it did.

Even cards that have a 6pin adapter, will pull 50-60W from the PCI-E slot. Some get closer to the 75W. So you would most likely have the issue even with a 6pin card.

With the 24 pin adapter I can prolly run a 1030 with no trouble. I think that’s the plan. I didn’t even know they made those adapters until yesterday. Pretty cool.
