I like the Clif builder's bars but man every bite is like eating a spoonful of sugar. Are there anything similar but less sugar?

You can make bars yourself. I can't link you the video here while I'm at work, but just Youtube search "home made protein bars". Michael Kory has a video where he goes over how to make your own, using some kind of binding gel and protein powder.

You could easily insert crushed nuts, fruit, etc into this mix. You add up all the ingredients plus this gel/syrup and bake.

I actually tried making my own awhile back. They turned out a bit too sticky so I realize it was going to take a few more batches to get it right so I never bothered. I know it's cheaper but a lot easier just to buy.

Eggs as binder. Vanialla whey powder from store. Cranberries for kick. Some chopped nuts for texture. Bake in over. We could probably anantechize this into a protein dense DiY thing.
