Low calorie and no sugar treats are yummy...

Just ate a 4-pack of delicious double dutch chocolate pudding. Only 60 calories each so I'm actually ahead. 60*4= only 240 calories.

😀

I personally don't like artificial sweeteners nor cane sugar, but I find coconut sugar provides a perfect amount of sweetness.

3 hard boiled eggs are also about 240 calories, and have more nutritional benefit. Put some salt on and they're kind of a treat? 🙂

That's about as many calories as I get out of an entire container of Jell-O Fruit Cocktail, and I make that with the big box of Jell-O. In other words, I probably get about 6-8x as much of a treat by volume for the same amount of calories. 😛

I doubt many products are made with coconut sugar.

You are correct, you have to make it yourself which can also be good.

Of course it is also possible to have a healthy sugary snack without any sweetener added. That is why I dehydrate fruit slices almost every weekend.

There was some sugar free energy drink in the store the other day. On the 4pack wrapping it said "Want sugar? Eat some donuts".

So there.

3 apples would be a much healthier use of 240 calories.

I'd rather eat a mix of good food and "real" junk food than "lite" desserts.

I don't do "lite" anything. If I want to save calories(I don't), I just eat less.

I like the option - I try to cut back on sugar, without cutting back on calories.

I hate the low sugar versions that also go with the No- or Low-fat route as well. Those, I take your stance.

But I can't achieve all of my goals by eating less. I CAN achieve all of my goals by actually eating a little bit more, but overall focusing on low carb/sugar. Sometimes I go for foods naturally low in carbs or true sugar, or I find the good low/no-sugar alternatives that still have the rest of the tasty fats and proteins untouched.

I just yesterday stumbled on Monster's Ultra Zero 0 calorie beverage. Amazingly enough its delicious. Almost a grapefruit flavor to it.

The red and blue Ultra flavors are good too.

But usually diet drinks are a waste of money, IMO.

😱 I'm going to have to check that out.

I'm a big fan of the Monster Rehab line, or at least the few I've tried. 10 calories, which is just right. Enough natural sweetness for the character, then mostly just artificial.

I'd prefer to see more use of Stevia. I think Pepsi and/or Coke has or had a Stevia-sweetened drink, and they both jointly developed the most popular options (Truvia and PureVia). Problem is, I just rarely look at the drinks aisle (I'm a water or beer kind of guy), but I swear I never see the drinks marketed as using Stevia.
And those are, for the large part, the only drinks with Stevia. Few actually go and just put it on the back ingredient label, not drawing any attention.

I want to see Coke and Pepsi make their best formulas with Stevia. As a possible example, Coke Zero: replace with all Stevia in the formula for that, don't give a new "Coke Zero with Truvia" name or draw attention on the can to the change. Advertise it at first ("We switched to a natural sweetener! Hope we appreciate it. 😉"), but that's it.

Everyone will accept it, we'll all be happy, you'll still be filthy rich. It is a, dare I say it, win/win for us all! Yay! Now please, get to work so you can take my money.

Thank you,
destrekor

P.S. A new product idea: take Coca Cola - replace sugar with stevia, though you could also do a blend, with perhaps 3g of sugar, or thereabouts, and the rest Stevia and perhaps some sugar alcohols. A true Coke-syrup light formula with more natural sweeteners.

Zero Ultra is okay as a normal drink, but if I want to make it into a mixed drink, I don't care for it as much. Absolutely Zero is probably the best for mixing. I've also tried the Blue and Red flavors, and they're okay. They taste like blueberry and cherry, which is probably expected.

I'm more of a celery and carrots guy myself.

Celery is my healthy snack of choice -- I bought a heart earlier tonight to chop up. Although, I find that carrots have too weird of an aftertaste.

Please no. As someone that even bakes with Splenda from time to time, I will flat out say that Stevia is fucking disgusting. My mom kept raving about it, and I tried the Zevia brand soda, which was nasty. Diet sodas normally have an aftertaste, but that's an understatement in regard to that soda. I had to force myself to drink them, because at $3 for a six pack (note: that was on sale), I wasn't just going to throw them out. Also, a few months ago, I tried a recipe that called for Truvia, and good god... that was the first time I had ever thrown away something that I had baked.

Coke recently released a Stevia-flavored drink (Coca-Cola Life), but it's actually half-n-half (the other being sugar). Although, if you're really incessant on drinking a different artificial sweetener, why not Coke with Splenda?
