It was never "gone" The Sopranos finale got people wondering about Journey and Don't Stop Believin hit a new record for iTunes downloads at 2 million.
Something for everyone. Journey actually has a hell of a catalog of music and arguably the most difficult, vocal chord shredding to sing. Great musicianship too.

Price point. Max exposure. Blu-Ray should be available before X-Mas.

Neal Schon can sure play guitar, IMO, the best part of the show when I seen last Summer.

edit; Man, I sure wish they sounded that good at Clark County, I would have watched the whole set ;)

There's no reason the two couldn't be released at the same time, even considering exposure and price points. People aren't going to buy the DVD now and then the blu-ray in a month (if it comes out). If anything, people (like myself) with blu-ray players are just going to wait.

That concern is echoed by the fan community. Some feel the regular DVD was rushed out for it's release to coincide with the band's appearance on Oprah. I didn't mind spending $10 to get a taste of it and will just give the DVD away to someone when the Blu-Ray comes out. Besides, I already ripped it to MP3's and have a hell of a live concert on CD now. It sounds great in the car. ;)

no doubt, I was buying Journey albums the day they hit the stores and this guy sounds like him, but does not have his cadence.

His Robert Plant sounds more like Robert Plant than Robert Plant does live...

Most of the Classic Rock stations that are playing the classic Journey songs nowadays are playing the Arnel versions, as Azoff was able to affect a major pull from Radio.

Arnel is awesome and that Oprah show has put them over the top once again.

It took ten years to pass before that could happen, regardless of who was singing.

I didn't realize how powerful Azoff was until I did a bit of research. Without a big gun like him things would have been harder for the band. The concert sales and reviews for the last two years say it all, especially when they are selling out large venues. That hasn't happened for a long time.

Example 1 - One More This is a little harder side of Journey, as it was at a metal festival. (not best sound and vid)

Entire Graspop concert can be downloaded here from dropbox links.

Download all the .rar files to one folder then extract the first one to same location and it will extract all 500mb. Plays in VLC or Winamp. This looks and sounds better.

Not any more....he's 60 years old. His voice was fried by his own admission.

Indeed. I picked this up today. What an amazing concert, and seriously, for $10, it's a steal.

It makes a nice live concert CD too. A friend of mine ripped it and burned it all to CD as a gift to me, in exact set order as the dvd. It took 2 CD's though, so no biggie. This was not a low budget production by any means. Can you imagine the pride in Arnel having been plucked from obscurity only to have the band return with him to his homeland a year later and play to a sold out crowd? I'll tell ya, it really grabs at my heart strings.

I know the links I posted don't do justice to the DVD itself but it's a pretty damn good setlist. I'm excited about the new album coming out as it has Arnel participating in the writing and the songs will be tailored to his unique sound. Kind of a bummer, but the band has chosen not to tour in 2010, concentrating on music production instead.
