Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'

Back when I was under 10 years old, my sister and I would make fun of my older sister and her boyfriend. We would say that they were:

Lovin' :laugh:

Touchin' :laugh: :laugh:

...and...wait for it....Squeezin'! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

We would just laugh and laugh and laugh at them. Ah the joys of innocence. 🙂
 
Classic song. The new guy certainly sounds close to the original dude. Not quite as good, but close enough to still be good.
 
Wow, what a beautiful voice, not to mention great story. Dare I say I'm not a great fan of some of his singing tho, since he seems to carry his notes too long and it frustrates the crap out of me, lol.

He's been a work in progress, but the voice and raw talent are definitely there. I imagine it's a pretty difficult thing to pull off perfectly since English is not his first language but he's made huge strides this year and keeps getting better.

There were several things said about the band in the past couple years to include all of the following:

They'll never make new music (New Album has now gone double platinum)
They'll never tour (Actually, they were #17 on top revenue tours of 2008)
They will be relegated to the state fair circuit (They just finished a tour in OKC Arena, sold out capacity of 26,000)
They'll never make a new DVD (They've released 2)

Tour 2009 is over and they're headed back into the recording studio. Not bad for an over 30 year old band that was just about dead and gone. 🙂

Gregg Rolie just recently sat in with them in Texas.

 
Having listened to Steve Perry and seen them perform around 1980, Arnel is definitely his equal. In fact, I think I prefer Arnel's sound to Perry's.
I was a pretty big Journey fan back then (Of course, along with Foreigner, Kansas, and Rush). His vocals have given me somewhat of a renewed
interest in the band.

What's cool is that Neal Schon, one of the originals has played on every single album Journey has made. We've still got 3 of the guys left from their hayday. Neal makes the band what it is as much as the singer, IMO. Just a phenomenal guitarist!
 
I'm not a big Journey fan but it's fucking uncanny how much he sounds like Steve Perry. What I wonder is if he is consciously doing a "Steve Perry impersonation" or if he naturally sounds that way.

Pretty amazing comeback for a band formed in 1973.

The band heads back into the recording studio next month to work on their second album with new singer Arnel Pineda.

Their last Album, Revelation was certified platinum last year and has recently gone double platinum, their first platinum release since Steve Perry left the band in 1998.

I attended two sold out concerts this year, which were both awsome performances. Having been a fan since around 1980, I can definitely say the fans are getting younger.
Lots of teens and twenty somethings at the shows I was at.
