The good news keeps rolling in for Republicans in the 2016 elections when the Louisiana election adds 1 new Senator and 2 new Representatives to the House.

Another good day in America.

"The 2016 campaign season has finally ended, with Louisiana's runoff election cementing Republican control of the U.S. Senate. The GOP also is holding onto the two U.S. House seats that were undecided going into the state's runoff election."

I still find it funny that we elected a democrat for governor (going to hear him speak on Tues). Hatred of Jindal coupled with Vitters prostitution issue got him in, and I don't think Edwards is too bad if he can just get the damned budget under control. Unfortunately curbing spending isn't really in his playbook.

As for the current election I've got nothing really to add other than I'm not a big Foster Campbell fan.

Sounded like both the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidate were equally slimy, essentially interchangeable old white guys.

math is difficult I know but Kennedy replaced the retiring diaper David Vitter (R) and the house seats were already Republican controlled so it is a net of 0

Thanks for the correction. I think this makes it 52 republican Senators and 46 Democrat Senators, 1 Socialist Senator and 1 Independent Senator that may caucus with the Democrats. It also brings the House membership to 247 Republicans to 188 Democrats. A good chance in the 2018 Senate races for Republicans to pick up an additional 8 - 10 seats.

Most people would rather be alive in Louisiana then gunned down on the streets of Chicago, the murder capital of the United States and solidly blue for a long time.

1) This sentence is a good example of knowing the difference between 'then' and 'than'.

2) You do know that New Orleans has a higher murder rate, right? And that Chicago isn't even in the top 25, right? And that Louisiana as a state is second only to Alaska in firearm deaths per 100,000, right?

That's not what the free markets are telling us, if you look at how much they value Chicago vs Louisiana living space.

What does their race have to do with ahything? Would you say the same thing about candidates of a different ethnic group? Essentially interchangable slimy black guys, or essentially interchangeable slimy hispanics?

I don't think this makes much difference in the grand scheme, house was already strongly in R hands, senate lead increases by one but not enough to change anything.

Sorry, i was educated by a union instructor in a public school. I'd like to see a reliable citation on murder rates. That is murder btw, not suicide.

Louisiana as a state has the highest murder rate per capita IN THE COUNTRY:

http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2016/09/louisiana_tops_murder_rate_aga.html

As far as cities, Chicago is actually #24, with other Louisiana cities higher on the list:

It's obvious you don't have a fucking clue of what you are talking about.

Lol, you bash Republicans and then post a link about Lake Providence.
Flush is the village idiot. One of several around here.

With its large African-American electorate, Lake Providence today remains a stronghold of the Democratic Party, after many of the more conservative whites switched to the Republicans. In the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, East Carroll Parish voted handily for Democrat Barack H. Obama of Illinois, rather than his Republican opponents, John S. McCain of Arizona and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts.

Louisiana is no stranger to Democrats. But everything in Flush's stupid world is idiotic R vs D nonsense.

Facts don't matter in the post-truth bubble of the Trumpsters.

Of course facts matter to me, I kindly thanked Pixel for the information. I had no idea the murder rate is so high in Louisiana, it's not as if it gets much national coverage.

bullshit, fact mean nothing to you or the majority of drumpf fluffers. You were way to quick to throw Chicago under the bus with zero facts to back up your statement, and you'd have gladly let it stand. So yea, bullshit.
