I think that shows good quality. Some people will pay more for quality...

That's cool that you were able to find your mom's old LV purses up in the attic, where they've probably been for the past 8 years.

Yeah. Chinatown you can get any one of those bags for like $10 and chances are no Joe in any public place will be able to tell the difference if you get a good enough one.

SF chinatown has a ton of them, even fake wallets too. bargain in chinese and you get better deals. unfortunately you can tell they're fake if you're "experienced" in LV (i.e. they put BOWS on it, ugh, the colors are wrong, etc.)

i can spot lv fakes a mile away now, that's how long i spend browsing them. :D

i have a real prada bag, but i never use it except on special occasions. i like buying fake purses though because i can beat them to death without worrying about messing them up. can't wait to go back to asia to stock up.

I bought a purse from my sister for Christmas. It was a Claiborne and it was $50. I saw all those really expensive ones and without the name, I doubt anyone would buy them. I'd never buy anyone one of those rip off purses.

<---- uses a 4 year old $5 leather wallet from Mexico.

I have zero comprehension of why somebody would spend $30, let alone $500 on a purse. Any purse.

Their reply is, "I don't know anything about Coach bags". I also asked them to tell me about a certain bag, the person said "$598", nothing else... she had nothing to say or didn't know anything about what she was selling... pretty pricey for a product their sales reps can't even tell you about. I guess they sell themselves, or maybe it's the Jessica Simpson effect.

LV is a 'luxury brand' and a status brand. I do like extremely high quality items (clothes, homewears) but I wouldn't touch LV, the brand is over-exposed and there are too many losers flocking to it. :) But if you are looking for a tacky status symbol, & you are happy to pay for it, then fine, go with LV. If you are looking for 'quality' then there are plenty of low-key brands selling high-quality products for less $$.

Anyone buy one for their significant other for christmas?

Are you looking for a present for your SO? Why not discuss this with your gf/ wife, she may have strong opinions.

Lol, no I didn't find the purse in the attic. It's in her closet. We actually had this discussion about how expensive LV produccts are and she took out her purses to show me that they are built to last.
