An Elise passed me on the freeway yesterday, I almost offered my body to the guy driving it. :brokenheart:

Both a Z06 and a Viper would dust that thing in the quarter, as well as top speed. I can't seem to find any skidpad numbers for the Lotus, but I think the Z06 would beat it there too, or at least keep up.

The Z06 and Viper would be seariously raped on turn-in and maneuverability. We're talking a 1,900 lb go cart vs 3,200 lb beasts.

that and the fact that the Elise/Exige have a very short wheelbase compared to the Z06/Viper, so in tight turns the Elise/Exige would beat out the Z06/Viper.

And also a lighter car > heavier car.

which is why I want a CRX or late 80s Civic. Did you know a 90 Civic is only 2200lbs? Slap a B16 in there and along with some suspension mods and you got yourself a little sleeper.

I'd love to drive that on a track, but I'd feel like a tool on city streets...

I think the really funny part is that with a full load, the weapon's payload on an Apache comes close to or exceeds the weight of the Exige.

If anyone has any doubts as to whether or not it's worth it to download the the 300mb bittorrent of that episode, start downloading now, it's an awsome episode.

If I ever have enough money afford a super car, it will undoubtedly be an Aston Martin, for sheer style, sexiness, raw power, it can't be touched. Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Ford GTs, Bentleys, whatever you through at it, it powers past them, through them. It's a beast of a car, and it's sheer masculinity compared to it's competition makes you certain which car is the true sex machine.

Any Aston Martin > *.

That video is awesome. NFS4, you've outdone yourself this time.

Most of your car threads I ignore, but that car is so f***ing sweet I shat myself while viewing it. Worse than that, I now stink here at work, and I don't care because I'm so blown away by that car.

Top Gear is just the best car show on this planet. I mean who else can call up the Ferrari dealership ask for their latest model and then say on TV that it sucks. Then few weeks later call them again for another model and get it! :D

oh and Jeremy Clarkson has the best job in the world

Err...no, not neccessarily. Depends on what kind of cornering. A light car doesn't always mean better handling automatically.

Bingo. I know that in the 70's american mfgrs went with the "weight=grip" threory on handling, but there really *is* a bit of truth to it. Particularly if the suspension itself is properly designed and tuned.

Either that or I could take a 1978 Subaru DL and outcorner a NASCAR stock car. ;)

No one thinks that the Apache pilot is amazing? Not something that you want to be at odds with in a battlefield :Q

The latest Automobile magazine took the Elise & Viper SRT-10 around the new Barber Motorsport Park. It's a new big track, which gives quite a bit of advantage to powerful cars (as opposed to smaller, tigher courses).

The Viper did it in 1 min, 45.3 sec, the Elise in 1 min 46.9 sec. Pretty darn close considering the Exige definitely beats the Elise around the track. Porsche 911 GT3 did it in 1 min, 44.1 sec.

Wow, the Elise got beat by a truck? That REALLY says something about handling vs. power.

Why yes, yes it is. Although I wouldn't turn down a DB7 Vantage or V12 Vanquish. :D

Correct. It says pick the appropriate equipment for the given track.
