LOTR, Star Wars, or Star Trek - what's the best trilogy

What is the best set of trilogies, if a setting has more than 3 movies, then use your favorite 3 to compare.

explain why, and which you chose 🙂

Star Trek wtf??? I'm going to have to say LotR. Star Wars has sh!tty movies like The Empire Strikes Back. Star Trek movies are all sh!tty.

I am a huge star wars fan (have read all the books) but LOTR were by far better movies.

What about Evil Dead?

star trek simply because the universe is so well developed by 10 movies and 5 tv series.

it doesn't belong in that list imo

lotr is probably the best overall but i can't stand fantasy stuff... ugh

LOTR, without a doubt. Of course Jackson has technology on his side, and used it well. Lucas had technology for the most current ones, and f'd them up badly.

Lord of the Rings, silly.

Star Wars has Return of the Jedi and Phantom Menace against it, and even Attack of the Clones is problematic (even though I liked it quite a bit).

Star Trek's only notable good ones among the general public are 2, 4, 6, 8, although I admit the director's cut of 1 is my third favorite of the series, and 3 and 7 don't bug me that much. 9 and 10 are freaking AWFUL.

Lord of the Rings is consistently *AWESOME* throughout, and one could argue that by the time ROTK director's cut comes out, it will fill in the equivalent of nearly 6 full length movies.

No way, Empire Strikes Back was easily the best Star Wars. It was so much darker and engaging than the other 2. This is probably because Empire is the only Star Wars not directed by Lucas. George wouldn't have had the balls to end the movie with the main character missing a hand.

Indiana Jones! The first and last of the installment are long enduring classics of the cinema 😉 (Notice how I didn't mention the second). To say I like the Indiana Jones franchise would be the understatement of the year.

Can't wait for Indy IV!!! Wooo hooo

Edit: Oops forgot to actually reply to the topic at hand. I think the LOTR trilogy for its sheer magnificence and grand scale should take top honors.

Gah!!

LOTR or Star Wars?

I have to go with LOTR because of how well Jackson adapted the book.
He took a great risk that his home would come under siege by thousands of angry, balding, mid 30's, portly, white men that still live with their parents. (I wish this fate upon Lucas for Jar Jar)

LOTR is better than the newer SW trilogy (third film, no matter how good, won't change that). It's on par with the original although I wonder if I like that one more...

In regards to star crap, well obviously it loses. Can't even compete.

I'm the biggest Star Wars nerd EVER (I can own almost anyone at Star Wars Trivial Pursuit), but I must bow to the might of LOTR a.k.a. the greatest trilogy ever.

I'm a big Trek geek. As posted above, I love how developed that universe is and how in depth you can really get with it.

But I think all of my favorite Trek movies combined wouldn't quite hold up to the pure fun and action in the LOTR trilogy.

My feelings exactly.

I like Star Trek, but it's not exactly a trilogy... And I think I like LOTR better; it's so much more powerful and emotional.

LOTR is good but it doesn't do what StarWars did for me. I just LOVE the SW trilogy! I'm not counting that crap Episode I & II that Lucas produced though. It's just plain 'ol crap! On that note, I can't wait to see LOTR:ROTK tonight. 🙂
