Was it really that low? I haven't seen it for under $59.94 on Amazon :(

Nice. All my friends will buy it and I won't have a problem finding a set to borrow. :D

Too bad those IGN shots are so highly compressed, you can't tell if the transfer is good. However, from what I've been hearing it is pristine and I am crossing my fingers that there's no edge enhancement.

I just got the 2-disc LOTR DVD from Best Buy for the $10 coupon deal; I'm considering returning it since people are saying the extras are weak. And if the 4-disc DVD version contains the same extras as the 2-disc, I'm definitely returning it. So are the extras worth keeping the DVD which I bought for $15; and does the 4-disc set contains the same extras as the 2-disc set?

The 4 disc set is supposed to have a completely new set of extras. AFAIK

While i wouldn't call the 2nd disk on the first DVD release "weak" there was alot of repetitive interviews. That being said i really enjoyed watching them, and exp liked the old guy who did book reports on the novels when he was 10.

I found this description about the bookends on Amazon:

Collectible Argonath polystone figures created by Sideshow Weta

So what is polystone? And is it sturdy, unbrittle and will it last for years if I don't accidentally drop it or otherwise?

I want to know as well. I might shell out the dough for the gift set if those figures don't look cheap and fragile.

yeah it'll be a seperate thing, probably packaged like it is now (link). The one in the gift set will have more stuff on it though compared to the one that's already out.

The 5th disc (gift set only) is this. Well, basically the same thing with a few extra features added.
