the worst is the group email via facebook... can't remove yourself from the list so when anyone responds, you get notification about it... again.

Verizon has an application that automatically backs up your contacts once a day, it's free if you pay your bill online. I would assume the other carriers have something similar, though I wouldn't be surprised at the douchery if they did not.

Never heard anything about this from ATT. Of course I've always used smartphones and blackberries so I always have my stuff backed up on my PC.
