lost everyone's phone number

Why do people insist on posting their phone numbers on Facebook groups when someone creates the "I lost my phone!" group. Don't they realize anyone can view the group discussions??

Never underestimate the power of stupid.

If someone lost my number, I'd just PM it to them.

What you should do is take the numbers in the list and the names and make a large list of numbers to sell

easier to find your physical location. But I suppose if you don't piss anyone off then there's nothing to worry about, then again there's lot of phsycos people that have guns, out there.

is having your phone number public so horrible? not sure what the problem would be

Lets just say hypothetically only 1% of the 150 million users on Facebook are crazy perverted stalkers. So you're giving 1.5 million crazy perverted stalkers your phone number, name and a photo of you.

I also got this trick that if you type (sub.Remove "###-##-###") in front of your social security number it will x it out. Watch xxx-xx-xxxx.

It works.

Actually I've never thought about how weird it would be if I lost everyone's phone numbers. I don't really have a backup.

you are using that all of the 150 million have access to the group. Usually its only the 40 or 50 ppl invited (or 400). Even if friends can be add/are notified that such and such joined the group/wrote on the wall of that group..and each person has 400 friends (unique), thats still only 160,000. But then 1% are crazy stalkers..1600. But why would those stalkers pick you?

Its not like your phone number would be hard to get other wise. Your full name and city is most likely on there, just use the phone book.

I often see the Group Type set to "This is an open group. Anyone can join and invite other to join." I've actually never been invited to a phone number group but it shows up when a friend joins one of those groups. That's how I see everyone elses number. The stalker would not pick me because I would never post my number...but I'm sure they'd target decent looking females more often.

because people are banking that most will have better things to do than call a phone number anyone could just stumble onto anyway.
