I dunno ... if she was an other, she knows that the island would heal her quickly. Also she could have done it not expecting any injuries to occur.
That would mean that the Others have a helicopter (they saw it crash), and Ben couldn't be the only one that knows about it. Juliette clearly doesn't know about the helicopter - she wants to leave, that's not a ruse, and she saw the sub going down as her only way off the island to be gone now - and she was in the inner circle of Others. No way she - of all of them - didn't know about it. There would have to be a heli-pad, so they couldn't easily hide it.

Oh, one more thing I just thought of that completely kills that theory: if they did have a helicopter, then THAT was likely their only other way off the island. Do you think they'd risk that just to mess with the minds of the Tailies? That just doesn't make sense.

Plus, the vision came to Desmond, and without him having the vision - something that the Others couldn't have counted on - they never would have seen her crash.

Let's put this one to rest. She's not a plant, she's who she says she is.
Did they see the helicopter?? Someone asked that same question during this week's episode, but I think the question wasn't answered.

As I recall it, they heard the helicopter but they didn't see it.
They heard an irregular helicopter rotor, saw a splash out at in the ocean and the helicopter noise suddenly stopped. Too coincidental and too elaborate a ruse.
OMG, too elaborate a ruse from people who dress up as vagrants, wander around the jungle barefoot with torches, and a pose a village with straw huts??

I just thought the blatant question (was it Jack who asked it?), "Did you see the helicopter?" was a little odd.

Well, I mean as far as a perfectly synchronized explosion out in the water.
Not that they don't like to do eleborate hoaxes, I just question their capability to perform such an elaborate hoax.

Plenty of people have died on the island and not come back to life. So far.

everyone else that has died so far was buried... so if they do come back to life they're just going to die again cuz they're stuck, so its an endless cycle. the patch guy was never buried, they just left him there....

that's my take on it anyway

Ok here's my theory.

The Island is a small portion of the "afterlife." Call it purgatory or hell...doesn't matter.
The others and the Dharma initiative are actual people from the real world that somehow found a way (through a magnetic anomaly, wormhole, etc) into this portion of the afterlife.
Kind of like how in that movie "Event Horizon," they found that a portal led to Hell...

Anyways, the people on Flight 815 ALSO came through a magnetic anomaly...that explains why they are still "alive" on the island...just like the others. However, in the real world that they left, the plane still crashed and all the people died because a plane cannot just "disappear,"...whoever is in charge of the whole equation whether it is god or whoever just made sure there was a wreckage.

If you're with me so far, it also explains why the others cannot give births to babies... Since they are in the "afterlife," they cannot create anymore lives...it just cannot happen. This also explains why if you were pregnant before you came to the island, the baby can be birthed...perhaps it already has a soul/life?

Just a theory but it makes sense...at least to me.

It was Sayid that asked .... and his track record for correctness is 100%. Kind of a joke in the office but it's true.

Did anyone else notice this?:

The girl from the parachute (Naomi?) looked a lot like one of the others that was in a scene talking with Locke at the camp. The ?other? girl had a British accent too (as did the parachute girl).

I couldn?t tell if was the same girl or not. I was thinking that it may have been one of the others that Ben sent in as a contingency plan in case Juliette backstabbed him.
I also think the fact that they hid her from Jack and Juliette as they would have recognized her.

The woman from the camp was the flight attendant. She has an Australian accent. I have seen her from previous episodes. The parachute girl is actually from the show Las Vegas she has a British accent. To me they don't look anything alike.

thats's her?! guess i never made the connection because she's black, and on Lost, she looks spanish.

I agree that Jack must have something up his sleeve, I suspect he and Juliet have some plan to doublecross Ben.

Also agree that Sawyer'spurpose has been served so there is really no need to keep him around, would not be surprised to see him hooked (which would be a shame as he is a fun character)

BUT
Here is what I do not get about the chopper pilot.
She is on a search mission looking for Desmond, flying off a boat...why would she be searching late at night when its too dark to see anything? Something definitely not right there.....
