I think that's what they're implying. There were 23 of them.
edit: or, maybe some of them were taken away/killed by 'the others'. I might have jumped to conclusions a little bit on the whole cannibalism thing.

Episodes have been rather weak so far this season. If they don't pick up soon their viewership is going to drop significantly.

first i thought that the "23 of them" in the other station were the others. they whispered like the french lady said...but at the end of the episode or the preview of the next shows them all in the bushes whispering "it's the others". pretty normal episode, no real big connections made except for bernard and rose. maybe rose is like walt?

rose is not like walt. i think the writers are saying walt is a kid with imagination, and when you're a kid you can make your dreams come true.

whereas with rose, its the old person who doesn't lose faith in her beliefs even when the world doubts you.

With all the people, just think of some philosophical BS, and that seems to be it
 
Did anyone notice the blond in the background of the record store in one of Hurley's flashbacks? It looked like Boone's sister but I wasn't sure.

I think it was originally 42 that surivived the Crash. 3 have died, there was the person that Ethan killed, Arnst the science teacher that blew up and the person that drowned that Jack tried to save in an early episode. Clare's baby brings it back to forty.
