How likely is it to lose 16 lbs in 2 months?

I've set a goal that I will get to 199 lbs by July 19 (the day my GF leaves for her 5 month trip).

are you 215 now? Start running, stop posting. Bust out the jump rope...start doing sit ups, crunches, flutter kicks, and push ups. How much you lose depends on how hard you work. Cut out the crap in your diet too.

between 5'9 and 5'10.

I'm also a bigger guy. I'm not just fat. I've got a big frame. I don't think my BMI is reflective of my overall health.

According to the charts, I should be between 120 and 165! I think my perfect body would be to get to 160, then add 10 lbs of muscle.

Can't answer how likely it is because it all depends on how hard you work to achieve your goal, but it seems perfectly doable

I lost nearly 25 lbs over a two month period, but it was accidental. I got on this tuna train. All I ate was tuna sandwiches with cuccumber. I cut out all the grease, and drank less. I went from 190 to 168.

Doable: probably.
Safe: possibly.

A better goal may be 10 pounds in 2 months as people with quick weight loss are more likely to get it right back. They try too hard for the short term and cannot keep it up. I can easilly see this happening to you (lose for your GF then when she is gone, you gain it right back without any more reason to keep it off).

Remember too the conservation of mass: mass in - mass out = mass gained/lost. You cannot violate it. Eat less food or excrete more of it. That is all you can do.

Atkins is quite good in the short term (better than other diets) - but isn't very good long term (no better than other diets). But honestly I'd suggest a modified version of Atkins. Basically you need to avoid easilly digestable carbohydrates (thus you eat less) while adding fiber carbohydrates (thus you excrete more).

Quit drinking pop, only drink water. At least a gallon a day.
Also don't eat any fast food & Run.

2lbs a week is doable.

I've lost that much in 1 month before (no, i didn't have the flu) just work out, eat less, and cut out fast food, (as other posters have mentioned) oh, and if possible, restrict sweets.

i lost 64 lbs in 2,5 months. got the body fat down to 14% from 24% or something... I kept the weight off though, cause I simply changed my lifestyle rather than keto diets & etc. I lost a lot of strength though, but now that I have been going to the gym for the last 3 months, I got my strength back.

Jesus dood, 64lbs in 2.5 months? That can't be healthy.......do you have stretch marks?

Oh yea - how many calories are you eating a day now? I remember you're trying to get into the single digits for bf%.

i have some tiny stretch marks on my stomach, but i am a hairy dude, so you can't see them unless you are in bed with me trying to lick my belly button

when i lost all that weight, i ate around 3500 calories, but i was doing 2 hours of cardio a day. burning around 2000 of it ...

now i have gained back my muscle, i don't want to do too much cardio, so i keep it to 1 hour, 4-5 days a week. i lilft 4 times a week as well, all different body parts and i eat around 2500-3000 calories a day.

The ONLY way to loose weight and keep it off is to change your eating habits and possibly your lifestyle too, if you don't you will just fvck up your metabolism and gain more than you lost every time you try.
