I go through short term 'fat' periods where I am busy with stuff maybe once every 5 years or so.
My worst was during my divorce, I went from a powerful 190lbs soft 6 pack loose 32" waist to 237 and maybe a tight 38" waist. In 3 months I lost 86lbs through overtraining, severe diet and ripped fuel. I lost about 40lbs of muscle and was able to later gain back all but 10-15lbs of it (I used to be in wrestling, football, martial arts, and whatever activity I could find during high school and early college). At 175-180 I am still pretty fit and strong though.
I use ephredra/caffiene and try to keep my meals small. Only water to drink and no snacks other than light tortilla chips and salsa.
I just started last week or so again (10th workout is tomorrow, I have about 15-20lbs to lose) and I have shedded a full 2 notches on my belt and could go to a 3rd that's tight. My arms are vascular again and my thighs too. I lost 7lbs in body weight so I am 1/2 to 1/3 way to my goal.
My workouts are 45mins every day but weekends.
I respond well to my training, I think because I trained so much while younger. Others that mirror me don't have the same results. Whether they are bingeing and snacking when they say they aren't or whatever I don't know.
