Clive owen's on the list of next would-be bonds. IMO, he's largely underrated as an actor.
Jude Law and Ewan McGregor are good, too... except ewans a scot :p

...

SEAN CONNERY. The best bond EVER. Is a Scot.

Feck the Scots. The Scots and the Brits have had their turn, get an Irishman in there and be prepared to get blown away.

Pierce Brosnan IS Irish.... :p

Sean Connery will always be the best Bond though, IMHO.

Us Scots will now march over, with plenty of whiskey, to your house and kick you in the berries :D

I vote for Hugh Jackman.

Gerard Butler would kick ass.

Clive Owen would be cool, except that I read somewhere he has no intention of playing Bond at the moment.

He said something to the effect that the combination of him wearing a tuxedo in "Croupier" and playing the driver in the BMW films is what sparked the rumors he would play Bond.

Please not Heath Ledger. Ugh I can't stand him.

I think Colin Farrell would be a good Bond.

Oh dear god, anybody but Hugh Grant! He's too much of a girlie man to play Bond.

He couldn't be any worse than Roger Moore was.

I dunno.. I see Grant in the fetus position crying like a little baby when being shot at or when an explosion goes off, or when having an intimate scene with a woman. Hell I can picture him doing that if someone calls him a bad name.

In my mind Bond can't be a young looking guy. No Heath Ledger, no Colin Farrell.

From a different article I read, that's why they were thinking of them. Have a bit of a younger bond and try to sell it to a different audience. I think it'll suck if they do. He's supposed to be the middle-aged super man who can still get 25 year old women.

Well, Colin Farrell definitely has the "I've slept with every woman under the sun" part down. He wouldn't have to act during those parts of the movie! :D

I vote for Hugh Jackman.
I second that. Hugh has a lot of range, and I think he could do the Bond persona very well. You may think of him as Wolverine and whatshisface from Swordfish, but go watch Soldier sometime. Yes, it's a pretty bad Kurt Russel film, but see how long it takes you to figure out who Hugh Jackman is playing. That's some damn good range if you ask me.

EDIT: Whoever said Jason Statham: he's got his own franchise/career starting (most likely) as The Transporter 2 will be hitting theaters sometime next year. The first one had some damn good action but the story was severely lacking, as were some of the supporting performances. If they get a better story I could easily see it taking off big time.

On the franchise not:
Regarding Ben Affleck, as had been mentioned earlier, he's started playing Jack Ryan in Tom Clancy-based movies (The Sum of All Fears). There's supposed to be more of those before long, or so say the producers, etc.

Ioan Gruffudd...Interesting. I don't know if I could picture Horatio Hornblower as Bond though.

Connery was the best. I think the first Bond movie I saw was with Roger Moore but after seeing the Connery Bond movies I was blown away. He was sooo much better. I would say that Brosnan is second but not even close.

Orlando Bloom I think has talent as an actor, but I can't really see him filling that role...

Connery of course was the best Bond, but Brosnan wasn't that bad. IMO, Brosnan got stuck with some sh!tty scripts.
