Looks like it’s happening. Trump wants a grand military parade.

A military parade is a symptom of a problem? I just cannot agree. We show off our military all the time. We have dedicated military performers, like the Blue Angels. We parade our carriers and ships around, we hold military exercises to show off our might. You guys have Trump-phobia and over exaggerate just about everything about him, then you believe this exaggerated caricature and attack it as if it is reality.

Well, I wouldn't say those are flawless either, but they also don't involve parading ground forces on public streets. And they usually have functional objectives, whether it's to drive recruitment or warn a hostile country. This? This is indulging in egocentrism.

Some will. What I am saying is that fascists tend to have a set of personality traits that Trump also has, and parades is something they love to do. Trump will never be able to do most of what fascists do because we have safeguards in place for now, but, this sure looks self-aggrandizing to me.

"Look at how strong I am!"
Unfortunately, those safeguards only work if people have faith in them and those safeguards are protected by the other branches of government. One group of people has spent the better part of 30+ years eroding people's trust in governmental institutions and the better part of the last year totally abdicating their role as a separate branch of government.

While it is true that there is some faith in the institutions, its also super bad to trust them beyond a point. Fascists take power when people trust in the system too much.

The US has seen some of its biggest expansion of government power during Republican years. They have not really eroded people's trust in government, so much as specific institutions.

The biggest damage has been done by society not living in reality. For far too long we have been electing bad people into office. Trump is the worst, but its been a long road to get here.

I think you guys overreact. Its a military parade. Relax, take a breath or two.

So you're happy that you are currently paying for the military parade on the interest rate for the Federal Loan that has now been doled out to you on a bi-weekly basis?

cool, I guess.

As a veteran, ask me if I want to participate in a huge parade and/or pay for it just because our president wants one for himself. You all know that's THE reason he wants one.

Maybe if Trump isn't within a thousand miles of it and maybe if the gov't decides to provide disabled veterans better health care service and provide our active service members better training, education opportunities and support for their families BEFORE the parade happens then maybe.

And maybe if the private sector provides at least 75% of the funding to show their patriotism and appreciation for their ability to prosper so so much from the protection our military provides for them, then yeah, maybe.

What a waste of taxpayer dollars while the Treasury burns through a trillion dollar deficit.

And the hypocrisy of those calling it no big deal - be honest what your reaction would have been if Obama did the same. Do you have the courage to admit it wouldn't be the same?

I can't Imagine being Daniels, or Melania for that matter, with 293 pounds of grunting, sweating Trump on top of you and that hair thing flopping in your face.

After seeing a recent video of trumps hair I'm confident that his hair basically looks like this but combed forward.

Lol...Do you mean this video

I knew his hair was a precision piece of work meant to conceal something underneath. I can't even wrap my head around what's going on with it all. It's like he's bald in the usual horseshoe pattern around the base of his head, with ridiculously long shoots of hair only growing in random places on his skull, all winding and wrapped around to give him the appearance of a full head of hair.

Either that.. or that clip is a edited hack job.

It wouldn't be hard to compile. I searched military parade on twitter last night and the response was incredibly negative. Threads asking for people with military backgrounds etc... were inundated with negative replies. Spend the money on homeless vets, training, equipment upgrades. Anything but this was the message.

EDIT: Found the source. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/trump-parade-plan-mocked_us_5a7a7366e4b0d0ef3c0a87e5
I was trying to remember where that came from when I saw it this morning. Good sample (filtered with Huffpost leanings).

Too bad there is no braded pony tale, almost looks like Bram Stokers Dracula beehive do with a big bald spot from the back.
