I'm finding the logo kind of...shall we say...suggestive as to how Trump will fold in Pence.
That's the real logo? Holy crap, I thought it was a joke. 😀

And since everyone has made fun of it, it wasn't on the podium at the press conference to announce Pence as VP just a bit ago. My bet is that it's going to be scrapped...too bad for drumpf it's already out there.

Some good writing by Ezra Klein:

Vox - Donald Trump’s speech introducing Mike Pence showed why he shouldn’t be president

...

As with all things Trump, the speech was funny and magnetic. The guy is great TV. But it was also wrong. It was a blue stand-up set delivered at a board of directors meeting, a cruel roast offered at a child’s birthday party. Selecting and introducing a vice president is a heavy duty in American politics; it is the most power one person will ever have to potentially choose the leader of the free world. But Trump couldn’t see past himself to match the moment. The cameras turned on and he did the thing he always does, perhaps the only thing he can do: he put on a show, and made himself the star.

...

On Friday night, as the attempted coup in Turkey progressed, Matt Yglesias wrote about his efforts to imagine Trump in the Oval Office as the crisis unfolded. "Picture Donald Trump on a series of calls with advisors and heads of government from around the region, and inside the NATO alliance, devising a constructive response to a coup attempt in Turkey," he wrote. "Good luck."

...

I know many who want to support Donald Trump, who fear Clinton ideologically or simply dislike her personally, and so they are hoping, hoping, hoping that Trump will reveal a new side to himself, that he will prove himself equal to the responsibilities he seeks to absorb. But he’s been given that opportunity again and again, and he keeps failing it.

I always love to hear the old "Make America Great Again"... why do conservatives hate America? Why do they pretend it ISN'T great already? Why do they pretend that the last time it WAS great was in 2008... What they are really saying is: Make America 1963 Again...

Lolololololol! Listening to live coverage of the press conference about to begin wherein Trump and Pence will make their first joint appearance.

As we wait for them to appear, in the background the campaign is, and this is true and no joke, playing the Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want" over the sound system.

That is amusing, I hadn't really looked into this one much today.

I saw where Trump had immediately had second thoughts, the whole announcement thing in upper crust Carmel was expected I guess.

Is pretty much the upper crust suburb in Indy, have an Uncle that lives there.

I immediately thought of TP myself, Cornholio was just major bonus points 🙂

Trump should make "Sympathy for the Devil" his theme song.

Gov. Pence had repeatedly and proudly described himself by saying, "I'm a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order."

Apparently, he considers himself a Christian before he considers himself an American, a conservative before he considers himself an American, and a Republican before he considers himself an American.

I am a proud American, the son of proud Americans, deeply and simply innately grateful for all the opportunities my country has afforded me. With that gratitude and out of simple respect, I stand and hold my hand over my heart for the Star Spangled Banner, sometimes (but not always) when I am home and hearing it on TV. I can and have been brought to tears more than once singing along to America The Beautiful. Btw, I also consider myself a citizen of the world, and I see no contradiction whatsoever therein.

Anyway, I am here to say that we cannot trust this religious zealot and partisan hack, who also puts his party before country, to uphold our Constitution.

We have spent more than 200 years trying to live up to the spirit of this document, often in maddening fits and starts. We have fallen brutally short far too many times, both domestically and internationally, but I believe in our better angels.

I consider it dastardly unpatriotic not to acknowledge our often bloody mistakes and shortcomings. Only in truth and humility can we commit to doing better. My patriotism is the quiet patriotism of my parents, who were both life long Republicans, but would have been disgusted and alarmed at what the GOP has presently come to.

Therefore, I will do everything in my power to make sure this repugnant ticket of a blowhard billionaire carney barker and a zealot who puts his religion and party before country do not reverse what progress we have made.

We are better than that. We are better than them.

I doubt he'd want his music associated with any politician, no matter their party affiliation. I'm just waiting to read about the Stones asking drumpf to not use their music. That leaves him kid shlock and ped nugent.

These guys just tend to pick stuff out that the artist would spit in their face a lot of the time.

Well Trump handled his VP roll-out and his Logo very competently. Instilled a lot of confidence in me for a Trump dependency.... Yeah Yeah, I jest.
