Looks like Anti-Semitism is spreading

Nitemare

Lifer
France of all countries.

Anyone on here that can speak German, please call Chirac so he will promptly surrender his country.

Any other places having jew hatred going on other than the Middle-east and Europe?

<< once again france shows its true colors. >>

Thats an absurd statement. Not everyone in France is like that. This is just a small minority that did this.

This is nothing new. The French ambassador to England was recalled last year after he called Israel a "sh!tty little country" at a public reception a few months ago. More to the point, the Vichy government rounded up tens of thousands of Jews and handed them over to the Nazis without even having been asked, during the second World War.

The French have accomplished a fair amount culturally over the years, but given their 20th-century legacy of cowardice and anti-Semitism I think they have a lot of explaining to do.

How dare you call these people anti-Semites! That term is used way to loosely. Just because these people burned a sacred Jewish site to the ground and destroyed a precious hand-written Torah, they are not anti-Semites. You would think someone could burn a synagogue down without being labeled an Anti-Semite by thin-skinned Jews.

Now you see how foolish those arguments are by those people who are supposedly just "anti-Zionist"

Europe has had a much stronger anti-israeli-policy stance regarding the recent conflicts with the palestinians than the US has in general. As long as Sharon continues to be the General Patton of Israel since he took office, Israel is going to suffer in the long run.

Cmin7 you just proved my point. My post was in jest and then you go and become the embodiment of that opinion. You cannot be just one. As Martin Luther King Jr. said "Anti-Zionism is just thinly vieled anti-Semitism."

<< Looks like this event is more anti-Israeli than anti-Jewish. >>

Just like those church burnings in the south were anti-christian and not racialy motivated right?

Errr...I think you just proved his point...

Those people might have claimed to just not like Blacks being Christians...but deep down, they just don't like Blacks.

Passner said that Frenchies claim to just not like Jews in Israel...but deep down, they just don't like Jews.

I'm not taking any sides at all...just pointing that out

Where's elleden coming in saying that this was a good thing, because it showed those zealot jews to open their eyes?

Oh yeah, he's on vacation for ruining the happy easter thread from yesterday.

Come on now, the French gov't is tolerant and accepting of others.
As long as those others are French.

Maybe the Israelis should go after the French instead of the Palestinians; given recent French history they'll probably have an easier time of it and they could get themselves a bigger country.

Hasn't France always prided itself on treating Blacks decently way before Americans got the urge to do so?

Why doesn't this acceptance carry over to Jews?

Damn beat me to it 😉

Great point. I wouldn't consider France a beacon of tolerance, they are either slave to the conquerer or to the highest bidder.

France is doing some serious oil business in the middle east as are many other EU nations.

Anyone who believes that the EU actually cares about the Palestinians or Iraqi people and not because they dont want their profit margins hurt is a sucker.

I love you people! Don't criticize Isreali's for anything or else face being labeled as a anti-Semite. You're just like those liberals that call some conservatives racist as soon as they point out how currupt Jesse Jackson is and what he has done with the money he has been given.

I'll agree that is wrong ! Despite that those were not the actions of the protesters in France. That was the act of some idiot who thought burning down a synagogue was a good thing to do, which it is not!! On the other hand does hate crimes commited against Arab American by idiots here in the U.S. after 9/11 mean that it reflects the views of most Americans who support the war on Afganistan ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't southern France have a large Muslim population left over from the spread of the Ottoman Empire?

France had colonies in Northen Africa thus their has always been a influx of North Africans. Also France, and Spain tend to always see a large influx of North African immigrants also because of their vicinty to North Afica.
