Looking for some sort of blog script / setup / webpage guy...

Well. Unfortunately I am co-building a website with my friend and he bought hosting through Yahoo. And it is downright horrible for what he paid for it..

Can you run programs and write files on their server? If so, there are a number of serverless database libraries, like SQLite or BerkelyDB.

It's pretty sad that $8.99/yr web hosts which offer MySQL and PHP are 100x better than Yahoo web hosting.

Even free web hosting from DeviousTrap or myself would be 10x better than Yahoo.

RossMAN, I firmly believe that those who make bad hosting decisons (sp?) are just uninformed of better offers. Either that or their level of stupidity is off the scales

Aside from wordpress what other blog / site packages do you suggest?

There is always LiveJournal...that is if you can somehow get access to a mysql database...

If only you had MySQL/PHP, there are dozens of blog scripts available.

HostPC.com even offers Installatron which automatically installs any of these scripts with a click of your mouse.

would recommend anything but these two, they get hacked into a LOT

So far I am impressed with geeklog, mambo and wordpress.

mambo - funny name but it's the best CMS i've used, and it's gonna get better. lots of features.
wordpress - clean and simple blog engine. way better than movabletype
