What if you just found any game that fits your rating system. Then disable chat. Then have a ventrillo channel or something for you guys to talk. That will rule out anyone else talking to him, and would widen the amount of games you could play together. And you could also talk in between games, or whenever you wanted really.

The two of you can go through the whole game together in a private, password protected game. Nice and slow paced too.

Need for Speed - World is free. It's very casual and sort of an MMO but for what its worth I never talked to anybody. lol
