<< I'm looking at an HP 940C right now, it looks like a good quality printer for a good price. Any suggestions or ideas? >>
If you're looking at the 940C, then you might want to take a look at the HP 960C. The black ink cartridge in the 960 is almost twice as large as the one in the 940, and the two cartridges cost the exact same price. So in theory you'll make up that $50 extra you'll spend on the printer after you buy your first two ink cartridges; in the long run it'll save you a lot of money.
<< Epson has permanent print heads that save you money on ink costs......if you don't use them they colg up///still I use mine often so no biggie..GREAT QUALITy too..
BLows HP AWAY..CANON destroys HP too... >>
If cost is an issue, you can't beat an HP..
<< I asked this question recently, of course in the proper forum, wink wink nudge nudge, but I guess it's OK here too since all the really smart people usually hang here, but anyway, I asked, thinking I'd get the HP 1315?, it's in the other room and I got a bad leg, and I was told that any of the top hp, probably the photo realt 3, or is it 2, printers are identical in print quality, but vary in features, so if money is an issue, get the best hp in this class that has the features you need and I think you'll be happy. >>
The HP Photosmart 1315 is $399, well above the $150 that the 940C costs. It's a very nice printer, but does he really need all of that? And you're almost right about the quality: HP's 920C ($99) has the same quality as the Photosmart 1315 ($399), including all their printers in between.
