Looking for a gym in the Boston, MA area...

I've started doing various Olympic-style lifts (clean, snatch, etc) that require dropping the weight after each rep, so I need to find a gym that has weight lifting platforms and bumper plates. I've checked a ton of gyms in my area (near Somerville), and none of them have this kind of equipment. The one exception is the CrossFit gym, but it's too far away and ridiculously expensive ($200/month).

Any suggestions?

Wow, Crossfit gyms are expensive. Does that 200/mo including coaching or just working out there? I'm planning on going to the one here in Calgary maybe once a week to get oly lifting coaching but I will continue working out at my normal gym.

Not sure about all Crossfit gyms, but the prices at Crossfit Boston are pretty steep:

Rates & Programs
Unlimited CrossFit Classes - $200 per month
Two CrossFit Classes per week - $125 per month
Unlimited CrossFit Classes (Family - Two or more) - $300 per month

They also offer private instruction (~$125/hour) and training in small groups (2-5 people) for $60-$70/hour depending on the size of the group. Finally, there are a few short (~3 session) workshops you can sign up for that are also quite expensive ($200-$400).

I don't see anywhere on there a way to just use the gym at will: it seems like you have to do it as part of a class or private training session.

1x/week - $75/month ($17/class)

*The above options include a 1 year contract. The first month will be pro-rated to reflect the extra 1 week at the end of May. The contract is automatically renewed at the anniversary date unless 14 days of written notice of cancellation is received.

I'd love to find a CF gym that's $75 a month...most of the ones I've seen are more like $200. I'd gladly pay $75 for the equipment, personnel and expertise.

That's if you only go once per week.

1x/week - $75/month ($17/class)

2x/week - $140/month ($16/class)

3x/week - $195/month ($15/class)

Unlimited - $250/month

Jeez, those metro areas must have really high rent. Crossfit Marina, where I work out, is $150/month for unlimited classes. I go about 4-5 times a week, so it ends up costing me less than $10 a session.

1x a week is fine for me to get into the swing of things...I wouldn't mind paying $75/mo in addition to my Lifetime membership.
