eBay wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for crappy Paypal and their horrible buyer/seller protection.

What is it with Chinese? They are the loudest, scammyist, rudest people in all Asia which normally are the best of peoples.

Maybe because it is the Americans who are the easiest targets. I wonder how many folks in other countries fall for the I am a Nigerian prince with $40 billion story.

Honestly, while this is bad, the big problem is most people are stupid.

Case in point my wife was looking for a Fisher-price item when our son was born and decided to check ebay. Ebay price was Fisher-price.com price +$10. My wife messaged the seller whose reply was basically, "I know, but I've sold 6 this week".

How can you tell it's photoshopped? Looks like the real packaging to me.

As "off" as the font looks, it looks to be what they use on their packaging. I think it's undoctored as well :

Well think of it this way. China is the US of Asia. The metaphor actually works quite well. Americans and Chinese share quite a few personality traits that they don't share between say Americans and Japanese which are culturally farther apart.

Very true.

I saw somewhere these guys work at the factories that make the real deal and in the production shut down times they take the smallest chips they have and just flash them and put them in the real packaging for the bigger product which makes it so hard to tell they are fake cause they are in the real packaging.

1) it is probably a scam....
2) if a deal is too good to be true.... buyer have no one of blame except their own greed and seller.
3) i'll stick to dealextreme for cheap chinese internet items.

Why even bother shipping out fake 1GB USB drives at all if the intent is to scam?

Because it works better just to reprogram smaller sized USB keys, most people wouldn't know until they try to transfer a bunch of files to their USB key and they get errors or whatever it does. If people don't receive anything at all, the scam won't last long.

Look at the shipping times:

United States/United Kingdom/Australia: 15-17 working days
Canada: 12-25 working days

I'm betting he delays as long as possible and blames shipping, so if somebody sends him a message on why their USB key is taking so long to arrive he can just point at the shipping time it takes. And when they finally do receive it, they won't know they have been duped until they transfer a bunch of files to it and discover the true capacity.

there's no proof that this is a scam... could be stolen goods.

Definitely a scam, look at the feedback score. It is mostly by people that have just created an eBay account which means he's creating fake accounts and posting fake feedback to his seller account to boost the rating. If he was selling USB keys that were legit but stolen, there would be no need for him to do that.

Plus, as of right now it shows he has sold 870 of these yet he only has 12 feedback ratings, clearly he is shipping them extremely slow so he can sell as many as possible before being taken off eBay.

No man I'm serious. When I was in Thailand you could tell ethic Chinese in a second by their body language. They are different culturally. Not saying Japanese and Koreans are the same but Chinese are way different.
