Back when I was running WinNT 4.0 Workstation on my BP6, it managed over 11 weeks straight before I accidentally hit the Reset button while I had the bezel off of it. I'm sure there are some Linux fiends around here who can easily topple that, however :D

According to some Linux site some time back, yahoo has servers that haven't restarted since they were put up. I have a server at home running on XP Home because I had an extra copy of it and it pretty much goes without a restart except when I have to apply some updates for the OS to restart it.

With 2003 server no longer requiring any reboots after Windows Updates, this should get interesting! :)

Yea, now Windows 2003 server has a bit more level of a playing field to compete with Linux on true long term stability, because you don't have to sacrifice as much security for uptime. I still doubt it will be able to hit the multi-year uptime records as easily as some of the BSDs and Linux can. :)

<-- has gone for 2.5 weeks on his XP Pro workstation, and the server (which has run Windows or Linux at various times) has gotten over a month from both of those OSes (terminated prematurely by unplanned power outages both times :().

I had about 3.5-4 months on a Linux box running RC5 24/7 and doing a PProxy. I had to shut it down because I was having the electrice upgraded in my house. The box just sat int he corner doing it's thing.

My laptop win2k about 2 weeks then I reboot as the memory leaks start slowing things down. My home theatre PC goes for months without reboot but most of the time it's not doing anything. I also have a linux based web/app box (heavily used) that hasn't been on reboot for nearly a year.
