long-running sitcoms that were never the slightest bit funny, ever.

I hate everything that everybody else finds funny. That completely subjective form of entertainment was not funny at all and should have been canceled.

Rules of Engagement. Yeah, it's still running but I give it half a vote. It can be funny, but I swear David Spade ruins any humor that the show has. Just when you are getting into some humorous wordplay between the couples along comes Spade's character to drag down the momentum with his smarmy downbeat negativism.

I've watched him on HBO specials and wouldn't mind seeing him live, but his character ruins the show.

This thread is just another example that everyone has a different opinion and that this is more true for comedy than any other genre. Everyone has a different sense of humor.

For me,
Everybody Loves Raymond - hilarious
Cosby Show - not terrible, but not that funny
Mad About You - pretty good until they had a kid, then horrible
Seinfeld - very funny when I watched, but never got hooked on it
Full House - awful, but my girls (6, 10, and 12) watch it all the time.
Family Guy - LMFAO hilarious
Modern Family - best sitcom in recent years
Frasier - not funny

NewsRadio was freaking awesome. Forgot about Mad About You, ugh what a flaming bag of poo that show was.

KT

As was 3rd Rock From the Sun.

John Lithgow is awesome...

For terrible shows, I'd vote for King of Queens.

All sitcoms suck in a way or another, specially with those ridiculous fake laughs... If you need to tell people when to laugh, your show isnt funny enough

i agree, 'new radio' seemed to do the complete opposite of the standard deliveries and setups. no way was that show cookie-cutter in any way, shape or form.

personally for me i think the worst show was 'dharma and greg'. actually 'the nanny' had a pretty long run, also add that to the garbage list.

Why because I dont find a show about nothing with no real jokes funny in the least? Yeah that makes sense

no because you have no sense of humor

Sitcoms are not supposed to be about something. They're about characters and situations they experience.

Although not technically a sitcom, Malcolm in the Middle is one of the worst shows ever made

MITM is awesome. I still watch re-runs light night on FOX, even catch a show here and there on FX in HD. Perhaps you're just too old for the humor.

OK I see others actually agree with you, whatever, I didn't like the show until I started watching it in syndication but I didn't really give it a shot when it was on. It has its dumb momments but as the show goes on I thought it was pretty funny. Same with King of the Hill, hated on it until I gave it a chance.

Seinfeld, I still cant see why anything thinks that guy is funny.

OMG! I thought I was the only person alive who couldn't stand Seinfeld...

Add to the list:

The Simpsons (after season 1)

Friends

2-1/2 men

Anything on WB or CW

(more sitcoms that WEREN'T funny than ever were)

some of you miss the point of the thread. to say that there was never a funny moment on frasier, friends, seinfeld, or everybody loves raymond is idiotic.

but i dare you to find a clip of home improvement with an actual joke at a level higher than grade school. and cosby just didn't have jokes, period. or plot. it lacked all conflict, it was just some dumbass black man saying kookoo-kachoo.

oh, and i will accept malcom in the middle, i dream of jeanie, bewitched, and according to jim, and mad about you as being possible candidates.

For whatever reason I blur News Radio with Just Shoot Me into one show - aside from David Spade I couldn't tell you who was on one or the other, so maybe it's not as bad as I'm thinking.

Nanny and Dharma and Greg, those were not good. How long were Caroline in the City and Suddenly Susan on? Those were bad too.

Apparently all you've ever seen of the show are crappy caricatures of Cosby and Jell-O commercials.

I never laughed once at Raymond. I laughed plenty of times at The Cos, though I do agree with you on Home Improvement, I never laughed or even smirked once.

no, i've seen the show, and the inane caricatures are an accurate representation of his inane personality.

im not sure but considering they produced more than just a pilot episode of those shows was bad enough.
