Newspapers in the US, India, China, and elsewhere have already questioned the fitness of London to host the games. The riots are a huge blow to the already low reputation of the UK.

Nothing new there ,they should all concentrate on their own country and STFU,we all know every country has their own issues of some sort.

As for Press well we all know they have a perfect record right?...🙄

I don't understand Xenophobes... It's like racism or sexism, I don't get the irrational fear / hatred. Did something happen to you as a child? Is it brain damage? What happened to make you like this?

Sorry, but I don't see any xenophobia in worrying about the safety of hundreds of nationalities. I do see supremacy and nationalism though in disregarding their safety despite revolutionary activity so close to the Olympic Stadium.

I'm not calling for the direct hurting of innocents, but I am all for the people to rise up like this to topple down the government. We were all fine with it in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, etc., but why isn't it OK now? This is a good thing, the UK government needs significant reform. It's pretty barbaric and needs to change its government to a Republic among other things.

I am all for the actions of people to rise up if they're fed up with tyranny.
Two reasons. First, ask yourself what the governments of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya had in common. If you answered "they were fascist dictatorships with no free elections," give yourself a cookie. British citizens have a means to deal with poor leadership; vote other people into office. Violence accomplishes nothing; it's not going to lead to overthrow of the government, just the arrests of some young people and hundreds of milions of dollars in damage.

Second, the people rioting in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt started out non-violent and only turned violent as a result of police and military reaction. The rioters in London weren't a non-violent group of protestors rallying for a cause who were set upon by police; they were a violent mob from the start. They don't have a rallying cause; they are stealing and burning in the name of nothing at all.

So, yeah, maybe the riots in Africa to replace tyrannical despots aren't really comparable because the events are completely different. People can support overthrow of tyranny. People generally aren't in favor of wanton acts of violence so that some teenager can steal a few TVs and light a car on fire.

So you've never been to the UK and you're just trolling then? As I expected.

I have been to the UK, but I'm not sure why that would be required to post about the UK. Have you ever been to Iraq? Afghanistan? China? If not, does that mean you can't post about those countries?

OK, no problem in future I'll quote and make bold any future deluded xenophobia you exhibit in this thread so you can.

Starting here.

Course it doesn't, but it does mean that I can't make irrational conclusions about what it is like to live there and brash xenophobic statements of hate that encompass the entire nation.

You've never been here, it's clear.

These protests in the UK affects every country. For example, the Olympics will be held in London in less than one year! Countries should be worried about sending thousands of athletes and spectators to such a dangerous country.

Sorry, but I haven't made any xenophobic statements. However, I see extreme nationalism in your attempts to stifle dissent to some fake image of the UK.

Here.

British politician calls for rioters to be shot:

If this happens, I would be fully in support of US intervention for support of the rioters in the style of Libya.

Fixed that for you.

LOL - you are delusional. Do you say the same thing when the British press (and a significant portion of it is state owned) discusses other countries?

Stop being so nationalistic.

Sure you have! You just haven't noticed it, this is a classic case of the deluded not seeing the delusion.

You have an irrational prejudice about the UK.

You have an irrational prejudice of another nation

You are a xenophobe.

It's not xenophobic to dislike a government for its ridiculous policies and actions.

You have an irrational supremacist attitude about the UK.

You are a supremacist.

Maybe another country might start WW3 by then, you have had certain countries poking their noses in other countries business for so many years, I'll be more worried about that...I wonder where the next nuke is going to hit 😛 .

London riots: China raises questions over safety of 2012 Olympic Games

Looks like many are now questioning whether it's appropriate for such a country to host the Olympics next year. Are athletes and spectators really going to be safe in a third-world war zone? Mogadishu is probably a better spot now.

Who gives a shit what China thinks about safety or the Olympics?

Also, the rioting trash are the reason it has any questions with regards to safety, the same trash you are cheering on.

I do.

I'm not cheering on rioters, however, I do cheer on the protestors seeking equality and fighting the corrupt and illegitimate government.
