go to a tech school and get your AA degree so you can at least do something besides flipping burgers.

Or go back to a junior college and redeem yourself.

There are many trades that pay better than what the average college graduate will ever earn. Check out the various trade unions and their apprenticeship programs.

A lot of them are more fun and interesting than sitting in a cubicle anyways. :)

Yes, the average college graduate. Which is people with no real skills to speak of and some BS degree. I think computer engineers make a lot more on average than most trades. I could be wrong, but a computer engineering student is not an average college student as far as earning potential goes.

Anybody with an engineering degree earns more out of school then the average college grad. However all is not lost. You can still get a good degree for a job from a community college. Take some time off, get some cash, go back later.

The usa job market in IT and such isn't looking that good or has it shaped up now?

So if you did get the degree then you would still be out of a job as the job market isn't so great.

I'd go back and see about repeating the class's and work harder this time and pass them.

change to "Operations Research" not sure what they do, but it's easier than comp. eng. :)
Here is the educational path for someone in comp eng who can't handle things
Comp. Eng. -> CS -> OR -> Econ -> English -> McD's
