Take a class over and pass it this time?

exactly

I think he failed out of college 🙁 Well you can go to community college for 2 semesters and then transfer to a 4 year school again.

It's not like failing out of college is a surprise... Must have seen it coming for a while now.

so what. retake every class you fail over and over. that's what i did. no one can stop my mediocrity.

From where you can go

CE > EE > CS > CIS > BA > History/Phil/Soc > PE > Mcds

You and Supertool obviously don't have a firm grasp on real life.

Well, I am speaking from my college experience. The few people I know followed that particular path or something close. Not all followed it to the end. Not all started at Comp. Eng.
A lot of people did Comp.Eng to CS.
A couple did Comp.Eng to CS to OR
One did CS to OR to French.
I don't know if they work in McD's or what after they drop out alltogether, but OK.

Because everyone who doesn't have a degree works at McDonalds.

Congratulations on a great example of degree snobbery at it's very best. 🙂

Well, if he still wants to stay in College and still be doing something computer related, he has CS and CIS or BA as a choice.

Like Supertool, I've seen alot of drop outs from CE. 🙂

sucks for you, I luckily realized this 1.5 years into college and switched majors. The way I see it, theres no time limit in getting a degree, suck it up, accept your failure, but guess what? Don't give up, go back in, either study next time or change majors. 4 years? only if you have no social life. If its too much, take things slow, you have alll the time in the world.

danny~!

I wash dishes for now too. 🙂 Not snobbing.

Dude... Universities are full of bullsh|t to throw at you every time you get a C. I've failed classes and gotten C's.. been kicked out of my computer engineering department twice.

But, I've stuck with it and argued my way back in every time. Now, I'm in a semester and totally on top of things. It just took me the first two years to really learn how to study. I blame this on my never being challenged once in high school..

Anyway.. I even have friends that are doing worse than me and they're still in engineering. STICK WITH IT. Argue until you can get back into it. Never quit.

A guy with a degree in computer engineering still gets a job with a 2.5gpa.

Just making sure. 😉

There are people around here that make it sound as if life is over if you don't have a degree.

Heck. I need someone to convince me that life is not over because I'm not in the dean's list and not an einstein.

The thing is if i transfer to CS i have to spent 3 years again, that's 6 years in university. I don't know if it's worth the time or not.

Why do you need a computer-related job?

That's what i spent 3 years learning (working my ass off), i just can't give up now.

Then file an appeal and continue on with your studies. 🙂

I already filed once with medical certificate and they rejected. I only have one last chance, what should i say?

Yeah, write the damn appeal.

Talk with a counseler about what your situation is and he/she will tell you exactly what to put down on the appeal so it passes.

Worked for me anyway 🙂

You and Supertool obviously don't have a firm grasp on real life.

So McDs > CE?

Having worked every year since I was 14 (now 23) I'd have to say I agree with them, with the exception that I would put EE > CE (much more flexibility with EE).
