Im trying to take it as sincere. Its very hard to take him seriously. If you have seen to what has happened to Nancy Pelosi's reputation after the smear campaigns of the last 2 years you can just imagine what this guy will be painted as after a few corporatist votes...

The only thing that hurt Nancy Pelosi'e reputation was ... Nancy Pelosi's elitest attitude and her being a overbearing bitch. I hope her ass hurts tomorrow, I think it will after the spanking the house dems are taking.

You have no idea what this guy went through in his life.

You have no idea how he led the Republican Party from four years of defeat and marginalization to now taking over the House, coming close to taking over the Senate (still time to gain more seats!) and dominating the Party's takeover of Governorships, which will in all likelihood lead to the Republicans with control of the White House and the Senate in 2012.

You have no idea how an alliance between Tea Party and mainstream R's was accomplished and what role he played.

Yeah, he grew up poor, worked his way up in small business, did his time as an Ohio State legislator (and Ohio tonight just went almost 100% Republican.)

Oh yeah, he was one of the authors of the Contract With America in 1994.

Yeah, he is emotional tonight and has every right to be so.

Just like you have every right to laugh at him for being so. It must really suck to be you.

Do you have anything substantive as to their job performance, political philosophies, or votes? People say this a lot, but it is usually bluster that isn't backed up.

Looks like they keep the senate anyway, so gridlock it is. I hope that America has chosen wisely.

He works so hard he gets to go to the bar at 4PM and 6 nights a week in DC too right...

I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he works with the Senate to get things done not wasting time trying to repeal health care....

Boohoo. There's not one fucking person in Washington who should be proud of being a politician. Congrats, you've brought a party back into power. The rest of us are just as fucked as yesterday.

The Republicans now have whopping power of one half of one branch of government.

You may not want to be associated with Washington, but at least try not to be a dumbass along the way.
