I am getting a Prius.

I am debating if I should get Lojack or not.
I am also debating if I should get a car alarm or not.

if you don't leave anything valuable in your car and the insurance doesnt change hardly at all by adding them, i wouldn't worry about it..assuming you have full coverage, that is

My ins. co. said that lojack would save me about $5 a month. I feel safe enough with the factory alarm and immobilizer.

My alarm was like $50 accessory. Came standard with keyless entry and the immobilizer.

dealer alarms are not worth it. honda charged my mom $500 for an alarm on her CRV, toyota wanted about $500 for an alarm for my tc, i got a viper installed for around $350 instead.

Anything from the dealer as an add-on will cost close to twice the actual value on the open market..

As to the benifits, contact your insurance company. It will vary by state and company and to what the discount (if any) will be.

Most discounts are on comprehensive, not against the toal policy.
