I've had mine for over a year, and ever with my 2 year old messing with them, they still look like new and I've easily got 500 hours of gaming on them.
My complaints are the plastic creaking they make if its quiet or you have no audio playing and you move your head and adjust...they just creak a bit. And the wireless range is pretty pathetic. They work fine in my 10x10 office, but I can't even go to the kitchen 15 feet away without them cutting in and out. They are also a pain to correctly configure in TeamSpeak.
My previous Turtle Beach set was incredibly simple because when you "flip the switch" from PS3/XBOX to PC, it redetect them and sets the system default input/output to them. When you switched back to PS3/XBOX it changed the default back to your sound card, effectively turning your speakers from the soundcard back on. But they had pretty crappy sound for anything outside of gaming, and even in gaming they had no real virtual 7.1 support.
The G930's, easiest/only quick way to disable them is to unplug the USB receiver from the front of my PC.
I'm going to look into the Steelseries H. They look amazing, but Steelseries is incredibly hit-or-miss as a brand. I've had some incredibly crappy stuff from them, most of it high end, and the best stuff I've had from them was the cheap stuff like a $40 Sensei Raw...the best FPS mouse I've used since the original Razor Boomslang.
