Yes, back in stock online, however shipping and tax add another $7, so the price after rebate comes out to $17 and you gotta wait for rebate. Not that hot if you don't need another mouse. If it was penny shipping I would have snatched it, otherwise I'm gonna pass. Already have loads of "spare" mice.

Wouldn't really consider this a "spare"...

I use Diamondback Plasma, so yes, for me this would be a spare 😀 Besides I don't like the shape.

Thanks OP,

Snapped one up here in Dallas. They even had a little placard by them that said $10.00 instant and $20.00 MIR. Whole bunch left too! Might go back and get another one for the kids' comp.

....newbozo

Humm, no problem selecting in store pick up for me.
😕
In-Store Pick-Up Items

Back in stock on-line.

With gas prices as high as they are, shipping is cheaper than drive 40 min to nearest CUSA!!

Picked up another one for a friend.

Thanks OP!

picked one up locally. Their ad says 19.99 after rebate... but rang up for 29.99 (with the 20 dollar rebate=9.99)

thanks!

this mouse is great

however, i play fps way better on my 5 or 6 year old Logitech optical mouse.

I spend almost $60 on this mouse more than a year ago, hehe

but i got the red one! i wanted the blue one!!

so for $10 its more than a steal

I picked one up at the Novi, MI store. Rang up as $29.95 (or $29.99) and the rebate printed up. Will be a nice upgrade to my plain Jane MS optical mouse assuming that I get the rebate. (Otherwise it's kind of an up-the-butt "deal".) Thanks OP.

God damn CompUSSR!

So I ordered online this morning. Got a pick up reciept, in stock, all good.
🙂

Get to the store and the idiots realize they are out of stock (another customer had the same problem).
🙁
I am pissed off and give the manager a piece of my mind about the POS CompUSSR inventory system (not the first time their stock levels have lied).
UGH, in the end they offered to ship me one (free s/h) but still...

WHEN WILL COMPUSA OVERHAUL THEIR WORTHLESS INVENTORY SYSTEM THAT IS NEVER EVER ACCURATE???!!!???

:| :disgust: :Q :frown: 😕

I wonder what's the point of the red LED on the underside of the MX510...you can't even see it unless you lift up the mouse or if you're using the mouse on a clear surface.

Seems like a pretty nice mouse overall. I particularly like the Back-Forward side buttons. The Logitech drivers are from Jan. 2004...is the MX510 that old?

I bought one of these with a mail in rebate last June. Haven't recieved my rebate from logitech yet...kinda makes me a little disappointed in them. It was only for $10 but its the fact that they didn't hold up to their word.

And did you call them to let them know you didn't receive it? It's your job to track your rebate and make sure you get it. Things can happen, mail gets lost, they misplace your rebate, you write the wrong address, whatever. But if you don't let them know and then keep calling until you get it, then it's your own fault.

I've read studies on the USPS and mail supposedly very seldom actually gets lost. More likely than not, particularly for rebates, the rebate house lost it before the USPS.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's standard practice to take 5% or 10% of all submissions and dispose of them, claiming they were never received.

WHOA! Thanks! I was getting sick of my microsoft optical mouse😉

I've used Logitech most of my computing life, but I like Microsoft's Intellipoint driver better than Logitech's Mouseware. And the scroll wheel on Microsoft's Wheel Mouse Optical is the best I've ever used - just the right feel when scrolling and using it as a button.

DAMNIT! I wish i didntl just buy a mx1000, and am a poor college student!!!

Poor college students shouldn't buy the most expensive stuff. 😉
Can you still return it or is it too late?

not really comparable anyways. mx1000 is nice and wireless...and laser. mx510 while nicer then most mice still around is being dumped because they are coming out with the all laser line...

Nah, MX1000 and MX510 are two different products. The mx500 was a successful mouse for gamers, so they took that route and the MX510 and it's newer brethren MX518 are made to game. MX1000 is crap for games (technically speaking).

well yea but it is still 2 generations behind. even the mx518 is now obsolete with the g5 and g7 mice coming out.

I look at it this way. I currently use a MS Wheel Mouse Optical - good , but cheapo!

For $10 I can upgrade to a really nice mouse. Yea it is not a MX518, but it is still quite good.
And I won't have the budget to spend $$$$ on a G series mouse when it comes out....

Well, I have an older computer (P3 533 with 32 MB Matrox G400 video card and 384 MB RAM) and when I went to play Unreal Tournament online last night my frame rates were horrific! I finally concluded that it was the Logitech mouse driver that was causing it. After uninstalling Logitech's Mouseware (and closing a bunch of other programs, including, possibly, a piece of spyware it may have installed) my frame rates returned to normal.

So I guess you need a powerful computer in order to use their software. I have it plugged in running with the standard mouse driver and it's fine. Gonna unplug it and replace with my regular MS optical mouse and use the MX 510 for my upcoming (if ever) new rig.
